It's almost May 2024, which means a bunch of new content is set to be released on Max soon. If you're a horror fan, you absolutely must check out this list below of all the horror movies and shows slated to come to the streaming platform throughout May.
Note: Some of the titles listed below aren't exactly of the horror genre but have horror elements to them or are horror-adjacent. That's why we included them on the list.
Black Christmas (2019)

Black Christmas is a slasher film helmed by Sophia Takal from a screenplay she co-wrote with April Wolfe. Based on the 1974 movie of the same name, the slasher centers around a group of sorority sisters who are stalked and terrorized by a stranger during their Christmas Break. Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, Lily Donoghue, Brittany O'Grady, Caleb Eberhardt, Cary Elwes, and many others star in the film.
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
Max release date: May 1, 2024
The Dead Don't Die is a horror comedy written and directed by Jim Jarmusch. The story is set in a rural small town that is suddenly invaded by flesh-eating zombies. The townspeople, including the town's small police force, must now battle to survive. Golden Globe Award-winning actor Bill Murray and Academy nominee Adam Driver star in the leading roles of police officers, Cliff Robertson and Ronnie Peterson. Joining them in the cast are Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, and many others.
Poltergeist (2015)

Poltergeist is supernatural horror film and remake of the 1982 movie of the same name. Additionally, it's the fourth film in the Poltergeist film series. It follows a family who after moving into their new home become haunted by sinister supernatural entities. The evil spirits end up holding the youngest daughter in the family captive, forcing the family to consult a team of parapsychologists to rescue her.
American filmmaker Tobe Hooper directed the horror flick from a screenplay written by Steven Spielberg, Michael Grais, and Mark Victor. In addition, Craig T. Nelson, JoBeth Williams, Beatrice Straight, Dominique Dunne, Oliver Robins, Heather O'Rourke, Michael McManus, and many others make up the cast.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School (2024)
Max release date: May 9, 2024
After an amazing first season, the Pretty Little Liars reboot series is back with a brand new second season titled Pretty Little Liars: Summer School, which is set to premiere on Max on May 9. Taking place shortly after the events of the first season, season 2 sees our favorite Pretty Little Liars facing off with a new big bad, a terrifying female villain named "Bloody Rose."
Bailee Madison (Imogen), Chandler Kinney (Tabby), Zaria (Faran), Malia Pyles (Mouse), Maia Reficco (Noa), Mallory Bechtel (Kelly), Alex Aiono (Shawn), Jordan Gonzalez (Ash), and Elias Kacavas (Greg) will all be reprising their respective roles in the second season. Newcomers this season are Ava Capri, Antonio Cipriano, Noah Alexander Gerry, and Noah Alexander Gerry. In addition, Annabeth Gish will reprise her role as Dr. Sullivan from the original series in the second season of the reboot.
