8 family-friendly movies and shows to watch on Netflix this Halloween

It's officially spooky season, and we've started watching some of our favorite shows and movies to prepare for easily the best holiday ever, Halloween! Netflix already has a great selection of Halloween-based content on its platform, and we can expect much more to be released in the coming weeks.

The Bad Guys: Haunted Heist

The criminal group of anthropomorphic animals is back to embark on a high-stakes Halloween heist involving a prized stolen amulet in a spooky mansion in The Bad Guys: Haunted Heist. It's an animated film based on the 2022 animated movie The Bad Guys and features a voice cast made up of Michael Godere, Ezekiel Ajeigbe, Raul Ceballos, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Mallory Low.

Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 2

In Jurassic World: Chaos Theory season 2, the Nublar Five are stowed away on a dinosaur-filled cargo ship headed to an unknown place, unaware that their sixth member, Brooklynn, is still somewhere alive. Family Pack

Family Pack sees an old card game come to life, thrusting a family back in time to a medieval village where they must work together to survive against a bunch of dangerous werewolves each night. Franck Dubosc, Jean Reno, and Suzanne Clément star in this Netflix family movie.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow

The Curse of Bridge Hollow is another family-friendly movie to watch this Halloween, and luckily, it's already streaming on Netflix. It stars Marlon Wayans and Priah Ferguson as a father and daughter duo who team up to save their small town after a mischievous spirit sets off an ancient curse, causing Halloween decorations and costumes to come to life and wreak havoc.

Nightbooks

Based on the 2018 children's book of the same name by J. A. White, Nightbooks revolves around Alex Mosher, a boy obsessed with scary stories, who finds himself trapped in the apartment of an evil witch who forces him to tell her a new scary story every night if he wants to stay alive. While trapped in the apartment, Alex meets another captive named Yasmin, and together they must find a way to escape. You can stream this dark fantasy film on Netflix right now.

We Have a Ghost

We Have a Ghost is a supernatural horror-comedy film following a family who becomes a social media sensation after moving into a new home haunted by a friendly ghost named Ernest. As the family grows close to Ernest, they decide to help him uncover the mystery of his past. But this soon makes them the targets of a shadowy government agency. Hubie Halloween

Hubie Halloween is a black comedy film starring Adam Sandler as a good-hearted yet socially awkward deli worker named Hubie Dubois, who makes it his mission every Halloween to ensure the safety of his fellow townspeople. But this Halloween, things take a turn for the worse when people start mysteriously disappearing. Now, it's up to Hubie to save Halloween and the townspeople.
