Did you miss A24's latest horror film The Front Room when it hit theaters on Sept. 6? No worries! The movie has just landed on digital platforms, so now you can rent or purchase it to watch at home. We'll get more into the cost a little later. But first, let's discuss what the movie is about, who's behind it, and who's in the cast.

The Front Room is a psychological horror film written and helmed by Max and Sam Eggers in their feature film debut. Max had previously worked on the horror film The Lighthouse, co-writing the script with his brother Robert Eggers. Sam, on the other hand, is known for co-writing the script for the documentary Olympia with Harry Mavromichalis.

Like many other movies nowadays, The Front Room is based on another piece of work. In fact, it's based on the 2016 short story of the same name by Susan Hill. It revolves around a newly pregnant anthropology professor named Belinda, who, after letting her husband's estranged, racist stepmother move into their home, discovers that the woman is hellbent on replacing her as the primary maternal figure in the household.

Talented singer-actress Brandy stars in the leading role of Belinda. This isn't Brandy's first horror film. She previously starred as Karla in the 1998 slasher I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Joining Brandy in the cast is Kathryn Hunter as the evil stepmother, Solange. Some of Hunter's other acting work includes roles in the movies Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Poor Things and Megalopolis. Andrew Burnap (WeCrashed, The Up and Comer) and Neal Huff (Split) are also in the cast.

There are several places where you can rent or buy The Front Room. They are YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, Apple TV, Vudu, or the Microsoft Store. On all sites, you can either rent the movie for $19.99 before taxes or purchase it for $24.99 before taxes. It's up to you!
