Abigail was released in theaters on April 19, 2024, so I'm hoping you've watched it already. It's easily one of the best horror movies to come out in April in my opinion. However, I know there are some people who prefer to watch films in the comfort of their own homes. If you're one of those people, you're probably wondering if this horror flick will be coming to a streaming platform.

The answer is yes! It'll eventually make its way to NBC Universal's streaming platform Peacock. Why Peacock, you ask? Well, it's because Universal and Peacock came to an agreement back in 2021 that states that newly released movies from Universal Studios will stream exclusively on Peacock as soon as 45 days after they debut in theaters. If you didn't know, Abigail is an Universal film.

That being said, 45 days after Abigail's theatrical release could put the Peacock streaming release date sometime in June 2024. However, there's a possibility that the movie could land on Peacock later than 45 days after its theatrical release. We saw this happen with the supernatural horror film Night Swim, which didn't come to Peacock until three months after its debut in theaters. If this happens with Abigail, we won't be seeing the horror flick on Peacock until sometime in July 2024. Once an official Peacock release date is announced, we'll be sure to come back and share it with you right away.

However, we do officially have a digital release date! The vampire horror is set for a digital release on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, according to DVDs Release Dates. As of May 2, you're able to pre-order the movie digitally through Amazon Video or Apple TV for $24.99 before taxes. We're not surprised that Abigail was given a May 2024 digital release since Universal typically makes its movies available to be rented or purchased digitally a little over a month after their theatrical releases. With a May 7 digital release date, we're actually getting the chance to purchase the movie earlier than usual.

What is Abigail about?

The horror film follows a group of six skilled criminals who thought they were doing an easy job of kidnapping a 12-year-old girl and holding her hostage for ransom, only for them to find out that the young girl is not an ordinary girl. She's a vampire and the daughter of a powerful underworld figure. Now, the kidnappers must figure out a way to survive before the bloodthirsty vamp finishes them off one by one.

Scream's Melissa Barrera stars in the leading role of Joey, a criminal with a dark past. Joining Barrera in the cast are more talented actors such as Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Will Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, Alisha Weir, and Giancarlo Esposito. In addition, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett directed the film from a screenplay co-written by Stephen Shields and Guy Busick.
