Where are all the crime drama fans? We have some great news to share with you. All eight seasons of the hit crime drama series Dexter are reportedly landing on Netflix this June! The show was streaming on Netflix in the past but was removed after its licensing agreement expired. Now, it'll be rejoining other crime dramas already streaming on the platform, such as NCIS, Mindhunter, The Sinner, Killing Eve and White Collar.

Even if you've never watched Dexter before, chances are you know about the show because it was just so popular back when it was airing. In fact, it's still a pretty popular show to this day. It centers around Dexter Morgan, a Miami-based forensic expert specializing in bloodstain pattern analysis who leads a secret double life as a stone-cold serial killer. But what makes Dexter different from other serial killers is that he only murders the guilty. Those who were not punished for their heinous crimes. Six Feet Under's Michael C. Hall stars in the leading role of Dexter Morgan with Julie Benz, Jennifer Carpenter, Erik King, Lauren Vélez, David Zayas, James Remar, and others joining him in the cast.

The first season premiered on Showtime back in October 2006 and received mostly positive reviews from critics. This critical acclaim continued for the next three seasons with the praise lessening as the series went on. However, Dexter is still considered a hit with it having a series run of eight seasons. It was even nominated for many prestigious awards, with Hall winning a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor In a Television Series – Drama in 2010.

Like all TV shows, Dexter eventually had to come to an end, and on Sept. 22, 2013, the final episode of the crime drama aired on Showtime.

When is Dexter coming to Netflix?

According to What's on Netflix, Dexter the complete series will be making its way to Netflix on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. However, it's important to mention that Netflix has not announced if Dexter will be returning to its platform. So, we'll have to take this piece of information with a grain of salt. But if the show does land on the streamer on this date, we can most likely expect it to drop at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET since that's when Netflix typically releases new content on its platform.

As of May 15, you can currently watch all eight seasons of Dexter on Paramount+ with a Paramount+ with Showtime plan. You also have the option to purchase individual episodes or complete seasons through Amazon Video, Apple TV, Vudu, Google Play, or the Microsoft Store.
