Doug Cockle returns to voice Geralt in first clip from The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

Netflix's Witcher universe will expand next February with its second anime film, The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.
During Geeked Week, the streamer revealed an exclusive first clip with an introduction by the one and only Doug Cockle, who returns after voicing Geralt of Rivia in all three of CD Projekt Red's video games. He's joined by Netflix series stars Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra, who play Jaskier and Yennefer of Vengerberg.
The first clip shows Geralt and Jaskier at camp, eating a late meal by the fire. As is so often the case, Jaskier is annoying the hell out of Geralt, this time by suggesting he open up to the bard Essi Daven (Christina Wren).
Sirens of the Deep is based on the short story "A Little Sacrifice" from Andrzej Sapkowski's Sword of Destiny collection. Essi's character is an integral part of the story, and there is some romantic tension between her and Geralt, complicated by his lingering feelings for Yennefer.
It seems like that's going to happen in the movie, too, since Jaskier references the sorceress in the clip. Yennefer will also appear, as shown in the teaser. Yennefer isn't in the short story, but Sirens of the Deep will expand on "A Little Sacrifice."
Here's the logline shared by Netflix:
"Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends -- old and new -- to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war."
Sirens of the Deep is written and executive produced by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, both of whom have written for the Netflix show. Kang Hei Chul directs with Sapkowski serving as a creative consultant. The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich is credited as a producer. Ostrowski, Tomek Bagiński, and Jarosław Sawko executive produce for Platige Image, and Jason F. Brown and Sean Daniel under the Hivemind banner.
Netflix collaborated on Sirens of the Deep with the South Korean animation studio Studio MIR. The studio has also worked on projects like The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender, and the previous Witcher anime film Nightmare of the Wolf. They will also collaborate with Netflix on the upcoming Devil May Cry adaptation.
The teaser shared below claimed the movie would be released in late 2024 but it has been pushed back to February 11, 2025.
