Evil returns for its final season on Paramount+ this week, and a few new movies hit streaming. It's a relatively light week for horror ahead, apart from Evil and a new episode of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, but we also included some thriller films that might appeal to fans of horror-adjacent content.

Evil season 4 (Paramount+)

Evil is finally back after almost two years of waiting! The fourth (and final) season forces our favorite trio, Kristen, Ben, and David, to face off against new threats, like the potential birth of the antichrist thanks to Leland getting ownership over Kristen's egg, David working for the Vatican on a top-secret case, and Ben getting hit by an ion beam that causes him to see disturbing visions of a jinn.

Season 4 consists of ten official episodes, but Paramount+ granted them an additional four episodes to wrap up the storyline. They will air one week after the "finale." So you could view them as a super short season 5 or just an extension of season 4.

The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs (Shudder)

The fourth episode of The Last Drive-In season 6 makes for perfect Friday night viewing. Based on the teaser from Joe Bob Briggs on Twitter, it sounds like this week's movie choice will be the 1981 slasher flick Graduation Day starring Christopher George. Beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET, fans won't want to miss out on this one, especially if you've never seen the film before!

Atlas (Netflix)

Renegade robots and Jennifer Lopez make for a thrilling science fiction feature coming to Netflix on May 24.

While not technically a horror film, Atlas should appeal to sci-fi lovers. Rampage and San Andreas director Brad Peyton directs the movie about a rogue AI soldier who decides that ending humanity is the only way to stop war forever. Simu Liu and Sterling K. Brown also star.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (Theaters)

Again, it's not technically a horror movie, but Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is being hailed as a masterpiece and an excellent prequel film to Mad Max: Fury Road. Particular praise goes to star Anya Taylor-Joy, who brings to life a young Imperator Furiosa, originally played by Charlize Theron.

And yes, George Miller is back to helm the film. He directed and co-wrote the script with Nico Lathouris. Chris Hemsworth also stars in the leading role of the warlord Dementus and has been receiving acclaim for his performance.
