Goosebumps season 2 cast announced, everything we know so far
By Mads Lennon
Disney+ is rounding out the cast for its upcoming second season of the anthology series Goosebumps, based on R.L. Stine's long-running and bestselling Scholastic series.
Premiering in October 2023, Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis said the first season was one of DBT's "most-watched shows of last year," making a renewal an easy option. The second season will feature a new cast and storyline.
The streamer previously announced that Emmy-nominated actor David Schwimmer would star alongside Ana Ortiz, Sam McCarthy, Jayden Bartels, Elijah Cooper, Galilea La Salvia, and Francesca Noel.
On May 31, Disney shared a press release announcing additional cast members to play four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994. Their disappearance becomes crucial to the present-day characters.
Here's the current cast of Goosebumps 2, who they play, and where you might have seen them before:
- David Schwimmer (Friends) as Anthony, the divorced father of twins Cece and Devin
- Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty) as Jen
- Sam McCarthy (Dead to Me) as Devin
- Jayden Bartels (Coop & Cami Ask the World) as Devin's twin sister Cece
- Elijah Cooper (That Girl Lay Lay) as CJ
- Galilea La Salvia (Talia in the Kitchen) as Frankie
- Francesca Noel (Selah and the Spades) as Alex
- Arjun Athalye (Are You Afraid of the Dark) as Sameer
- Eloise Payet (The End of the Party) as Hannah
- Christopher Paul Richards (The Kids Are Alright) as Matty
- Kyra Tantao (Zombies 3) as Nicole
- Sonty Blyden (American Born Chinese)
*Names in bold are new additions announced on May 31.
The modern-day storyline focuses on fraternal twins Devin (McCarthy) and Cece (Bartels) adjusting to life with their newly divorced father, Anthony (Schwimmer). But their family life isn't the only stressor, as the twins soon discover an ominous threat stirring nearby. Devin and Cece, along with their friends CJ (Cooper), Frankie (La Salvia), and Alex (Noel), investigate further and uncover a mystery directly connecting them to the four missing teens from the 1990s.
Goosebumps is from developers Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, who also serve as executive producers on the show alongside showrunner and executive producer Hilary Winston.
No release date has been set for Goosebumps season 4, but it seems likely it will premiere this October on Disney+. Stay tuned to 1428 Elm for more news on Goosebumps and all things horror.
