Greta Lee and Kingsley Ben Adir tapped to star in buzzy sci-fi horror film 11817
It looks like amazingly talented actors Greta Lee and Kingsley Ben Adir could be starring in French film director Louis Leterrier's upcoming sci-fi horror film 11817. More on this below.
We first learned about 11817 in early May 2024 when it was reported that Leterrier would be directing and producing a science fiction horror flick from a screenplay written by Matthew Robinson. The movie's title was revealed to be 11817. Leterrier is known for directing the films The Incredible Hulk, Now You See Me and Fast X. In addition, Robinson is known for co-writing the scripts for the movies The Invention of Lying and Love and Monsters.
The film's plot was also revealed at the time along with the announcement that casting was underway. Additionally, the production companies behind 11817 were revealed. They are Leterrier’s Carrousel Studios, Rocket Science, Thank You Studios, Chernin Entertainment (A North Road Company), and 3 Arts Entertainment.
The story centers around a family of four who become trapped inside their house indefinitely by unexplainable forces. As their resources begin to run out, they must learn to work with what they have to survive while also trying to figure out who their captors are and how to outsmart them.
Now, we've just learned that Greta Lee and Kingsley Ben Adir are in talks to star in the film as reported by Deadline. Fingers crossed, a deal is eventually reached because we would love to see these two act together on-screen!
Lee is best known for starring as Maxine in the Netflix comedy-drama series Russian Doll. She's also known for playing Stella Bak in Apple TV+'s drama series The Morning Show. One of her most recent projects that many people recognize her from is the romantic drama film Past Lives. She starred in one of the leading roles as Nora Moon and was even nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance. We'll see her next in the upcoming sci-fi film Tron: Ares, which is scheduled to be released in theaters on Oct. 10, 2025.
When it comes to Adir, you might recognize him from his previous role as Karim Washington in Netflix's mystery drama seriesThe OA. He also played the role of Colonel Ben Younger in the crime drama show Peaky Blinders and Gravik in the superhero miniseries Secret Invasion. His most recent roles was playing Bob Marley in the biographical drama musical film Bob Marley: One Love and Basketball Ken in the fantasy comedy flick Barbie.
