Halloween Horror Nights Orlando and Hollywood announce new haunted house (and it comes with a twist)!
By Carla Davis
Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights has already announced several haunted house themes for this year's festivities, but the newest announcement is perhaps the most unique.
The newly announced house is Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines, which in itself doesn’t sound like such an unusual theme. After all, the Classic Universal Monsters are a mainstay for Halloween Horror Nights, and it wouldn’t be the first time Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, and the Werewolf have been featured at the event.
The twist is that these Universal Monsters are an all-female cast, including The Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula’s Daughter, She-Wolf of London, and the undead Egyptian Princess Anck-Su-Namun. As horror fans know, Universal has been updating the classic monster roster over the past year or so (the film Abigail was a reboot of Dracula’s Daughter).
Halloween Horror Nights guests will be treated to a new storyline in the Eternal Bloodlines house, one that involves Van Helsing’s daughter Saskia, said to have killed Dracula via a stake to the heart. Now Saskia must fight Dracula’s daughter, Countess Marya, who is determined to both avenge her father’s death and destroy Van Helsing’s bloodline.
Marya is assisted by the She-Wolf (from 1946’s She-Wolf of London) and the mummified Anck-Su-Namun (from 1932’s The Mummy). But Saskia herself has an ally in The Bride of Frankenstein, which greatly increases her odds.
The ensuing battle seems destined to end one of the two bloodlines, and guests will be thrown in the middle of the carnage.
Interesting note: At Universal Hollywood, Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines will be presented on Sound Stage 12 on the back lot, which was the filming location for the original Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Bride of Frankenstein.
For those who aren’t up to date, the previously announced houses for Universal Orlando are:
- A Quiet Place
- Insidious: The Further
- Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
- Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America
- Slaughter Sinema 2
- Goblin’s Feast
- Major Sweet’s Candy Factory
- The Museum: Deadly Exhibits
- Triplets of Terror
