Here's what horror titles are coming to Netflix in October 2024 (and what's leaving)

October 2024 is almost here, and we're looking forward to every horror movie and show slated to be released on Netflix soon. Since it's officially spooky season and Halloween is right around the corner, Netflix is preparing its subscriber base by letting them know what all horror content is coming to the streaming platform next month as well as what's leaving.

In October, you can expect to see many new horror films drop on Netflix, such as It's What's Inside, Don't Move, The Platform 2, Time Cut, etc. We'll also see the return of the popular Korean horror series Hellbound with its second season. In addition, Netflix will be adding tons of licensed horror movies to its platform. The streamer will also add the first season of the Showtime horror series Yellowjackets next month.

When it comes to what's leaving the streaming platform in October, you can expect all of the Chucky movies, It Follows, and several other horror flicks to depart. As Above, So Below

Netflix release date: Oct. 1, 2024

As Above, So Below follows an archaeologist who pulls together a team of explorers to venture underground in the Catacombs of Paris to find the legendary Philosopher's Stone. But as they delve deeper into the catacombs, they begin to experience increasingly strange and disturbing occurrences.

Halloween (2018)

Netflix release date: Oct. 1, 2024

Halloween serves as a direct sequel to the 1978 film of the same name. It takes place 40 years after the events of the original movie and centers around Laurie Strode, who is still not over her past encounter with the infamous serial killer Michael Myers. She has spent the past four decades preparing for Michael’s potential return, and after escaping from a psychiatric hospital, Michael is about to give her that final showdown she's been anticipating on Halloween night.

You're Next

Netflix release date: Oct. 1, 2024

You're Next follows an extremely wealthy yet estranged family who gather together for a reunion at their secluded vacation home, only to soon find themselves under attack by a group of assailants wearing animal masks armed with crossbows, machetes, and other weapons.

Yellowjackets season 1

Netflix release date: Oct. 1, 2024

Yellowjackets takes place in 1996 and follows a talented high school girls' soccer team whose plane traveling to a national tournament ends up crashing deep in the Canadian wilderness. The survivors are left stranded for nineteen months, forced to endure harsh conditions and a limited food supply. In order to survive, they're forced to make some tough decisions and even resort to cannibalism.

The show also focuses on the survivors' lives 25 years later as adults. Although this traumatic event happened to them a long time ago, they're still left living with the psychological scars.

It's What's Inside

Netflix release date: Oct. 4, 2024

When a group of college friends get together for a pre-wedding party, they decide to play a little party game involving a body-swapping machine. But after playing with it for a while, things start to go incredibly wrong, and the night descends into an "existential nightmare."

A Quiet Place Part II

Netflix release date: Oct. 12, 2024

A Quiet Place Part II serves as a sequel to A Quiet Place. It follows the remaining survivors of the Abbott family as they continue to navigate a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by blind, sound-sensitive extraterrestrial creatures. Along their journey, they meet other survivors. While some are good, others have bad intentions.

Sadly, one of Maika Monroe's best horror films leaves Netflix this October. It Follows centers around a young woman named Jay who receives a fatal curse after sleeping with her boyfriend for the first time. The curse is passed from person to person by sexual contact, and Jay becomes its next victim. A shape-shifting entity will follow the person with the curse until it catches and kills them. Not wanting to suffer this fate, Jay comes up with various plans to put a stop to the unknown supernatural force.
