Horror legends Barbara Crampton & Lin Shaye to lead The Possession at Gladstone Manor
Calling all horror fans! We have good news to report. We've just learned that horror icons Barbara Crampton (You're Next, Jakob's Wife) and Lin Shaye (Insidious franchise) will be starring together in an upcoming horror film titled The Possession at Gladstone Manor. What did we do to deserve such good news? I don't know, but we're over the moon about their castings. More on this below.
The Possession at Gladstone Manor comes from Umbrelic Entertainment, the same company that brought us the supernatural thriller film Monstrous starring Christina Ricci. K. Asher Levin, known for helming the movies Dig and Slayers, signed on to direct. He also co-wrote the film's screenplay with Danny Matier from a story by Addam Bramich.
Katz, Zambeck, Jordon Rioux, and Chris Knitter are producers of the horror flick, while Sean Krajeski, Ronnie Exley, Theresa Wayman, Jeremy Ross, and Anish Gupta are executive producers. Wayman is also composing the score.
Besides Crampton and Shaye, the rest of the talented cast is made up of Caylee Cowan (Hypnotic), Jesse Metcalfe (John Tucker Must Die), Charlotte Kirk (The Reckoning), Darren Weiss (Inside Man), and William Mapother (Blackhat). Cowan stars in the leading role of Jamie Black, while Crampton portrays Frida Black, Jamie's missing mother.
The story revolves around a young woman named Jamie Black, who after discovering that her mother is missing, goes to investigate at her mother's job, Gladstone Manor. But upon her arrival, she soon finds evidence that her mom isn't the only missing person and realizes that something sinister is at play at the house. This leads her to contact her brothers and her future sister-in-law for help.
Here's the movie's synopsis via Fangoria:
"When Jamie Black discovers her mother has gone missing in THE POSSESSION AT GLADSTONE MANOR, she resolves to investigate by applying for the same job her mother held at Gladstone Manor. Jamie soon finds evidence that her mother isn’t the only missing person, and that she may be dealing with sinister forces beyond this world. "
"Desperate, she enlists the help of her brothers – Rupert and Chris – and Sam (Chris’ fiancée): all of whom are professional criminals and former marines. Once Jamie arrives at the house, she is immediately greeted by a mysterious and evil Nurse, and soon realizes the residents of Gladstone Manor are an enemy like no other, with a dark power she’s never faced. Trapped in the house, she must rely on her brothers and future sister-in-law to save her."
The cameras are currently rolling on The Possession at Gladstone Manor in Kansas City, with production expected to wrap up later this week.
