23 horror movies and shows coming to Max in July 2024 (plus shark docs!)

June is pretty much over at this point, so we're looking ahead at all the new content set to be released on Max next month. There's a bunch of horror movies and shows coming to the streaming platform in July that we can't wait to check out. Below, we shared a list of all the horror titles slated to hit Max very soon.

Note: Some of the titles listed below aren't exactly of the horror genre but have horror elements to them or are horror-adjacent. That's why we included them on the list.

Candyman 3: Day of the Dead (1999)

Max release date: July 1, 2024

Set in Los Angeles, Candyman 3: Day of the Dead centers around Caroline McKeever, the Candyman's great-great-granddaughter, who finds herself targeted by the vengeful spirit on the eve of the Day of the Dead festival.

The Craft (1996)

Max release date: July 1, 2024

The Craft centers around a group of outcast teenage girls and wannabe witches who practice witchcraft for their own gain, only to soon find themselves experiencing the darker consequences of their actions.

The Eyes of My Mother (2016)

Max release date: July 1, 2024

The Eyes of My Mother is a black-and-white horror film centering around a young woman who, after experiencing a traumatic event in her life, becomes consumed by her deepest and darkest desires to commit acts of violence and cruelty.

Firestarter (1984)

Max release date: July 1, 2024

Based on Stephen King's 1980 novel of the same name, Firestarter centers around a young girl with a mysterious ability to set anything on fire at will and the secret government agency seeking to control her and exploit her skill as a secret weapon.

Single White Female (1992)

Max release date: July 1, 2024

Single White Female follows Allison Jones, a software designer who has recently went through a breakup. Now that her fiancé has moved out, she needs help with expenses. This leads her to place ad for a new roommate. She eventually selects a woman named Hedra Carlson, and at first, Hedra seems to be the perfect roommate. But as time goes on, Hedra begins to exhibit strange behavior and becomes increasingly erratic and obsessive.

After uncovering disturbing truths about Hedra's past, Allison realizes she's not at all who she claims to be. With Hedra's obsession escalating, Allison finds herself having to fight to regain control of her life.

Love Lies Bleeding (2024)

Max release date: July 19, 2024

Love Lies Bleeding stars Kristen Stewart as a reclusive gym manager whose relationship with an ambitious bodybuilder (Katy O'Brian) leads to violence when they're pulled into organized crime.
