We're only days away from saying goodbye to August and hello to September. Next month, Max will be releasing many horror movies and shows on its platform, including A24's I Saw the TV Glow. Anaconda (1997)

This horror film follows a documentary film crew in the Amazon rainforest as they set out to find a forgotten indigenous tribe. Along their travels, they meet a snake hunter who promises to help them find the tribe, but he has an ulterior motive for helping them. He's hunting down a legendary giant anaconda, and he needs their help to do so. As they venture deep into the rainforest, the film crew and the snake hunter soon find themselves toe to toe with the monstrous creature.

The Exorcist (1973)

Considered by many to be one of the greatest horror films ever made, The Exorcist centers around the demonic possession of a 12-year-old girl named Regan MacNeil and a mother's attempt at saving her by enlisting the help of two priests who perform an exorcism on her.

The Final Destination (2009)

Max release date: Sept. 1, 2024

After narrowly escaping death during a stock car race accident, a group of friends soon discover that they can't cheat death when they begin to die in bizarre and gruesome accidents. Now, it's up to the survivors to figure out a way to break the curse before it's too late. Bobby Campo, Shantel VanSanten, Mykelti Williamson, Haley Webb, Krista Allen, and many others star in this supernatural horror film.

Climax (2019)

Max release date: Sept. 1, 2024

Described as a psychological horror film, Climax follows a group of young dancers who, while gathered in an abandoned school to rehearse for their upcoming performance, decide to throw an after-party to celebrate their last day of dance rehearsals. However, things take a dark turn when they discover that the sangria they've been drinking has been spiked with a hallucinogen drug. As the drug starts to take effect, the dancers begin to behave strangely, and what was supposed to be a celebratory night turns into a nightmare.

Bodies Bodies Bodies follows a group of wealthy friends who decide to gather at a remote mansion for a hurricane party. While stuck inside, they decide to play a murder-mystery game called "Bodies Bodies Bodies," where one person is the killer, and the others must try to figure out who it is before they're killed. But what starts as an innocent game turns deadly when the friend group begins to be picked off one by one.

I Saw the TV Glow (2024)

Max release date: Sept. 20, 2024

I Saw the TV Glow stars Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine as two friends who find themselves thrust into a nightmarish adventure after they're favorite late-night TV show is mysteriously canceled. Ian Foreman, Helena Howard, Fred Durst, and Danielle Deadwyler also star in this horror film.

Uzumaki (2024)

Max release date: Sept. 29, 2024

Uzumaki is an upcoming anime series based on the Japanese horror manga of the same name by Junji Ito. It's a miniseries consisting of four episodes. The anime will premiere on Adult Swim first on Sept. 28 and will come to Max the following day.

"“Let’s leave this town together,” asks Shuichi Saito, a former classmate of Kirie Goshima, a high school girl who was born and grew up in Kurouzu-cho. Everything from a strange whirlwind, billowing smoke from the crematorium, and the residents is turning into spirals. People’s eyes spin in whirls, a tongue spirals, and the bodies twist unnaturally. In an attempt to escape the curse of the spirals, Kirie decides to flee from Kuouzu-cho, but can she get away from this turmoil? "
