British filmmaker Paul Raschid is developing a new interactive film. Deadline reports Raschid's latest project, The Run, is an "interactive horror-thriller" that puts the fate of its protagonists into the viewer's hands. Ouch, poor them. If you watched Black Mirror's Bandersnatch or enjoy visual novels, you'll have an idea of what to expect.

Raschid is no stranger to this hybrid genre, having previously worked on interactive titles like the hostage-thriller The Gallery, the romantic comedy Five Dates, and its sequel, Ten Dates. Both rom-coms function like visual novels and are available on platforms like Steam, Apple's App Store, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

The Run will star Vikings actor George Blagden and Roxanne McKee, who played Doreah in Game of Thrones. Blagden previously worked with Raschid on The Gallery.

McKee plays a fitness influencer on her morning run pursued by seemingly motiveless killers. She crosses paths with a local farmer (Blagden), and the pair must work together to survive. Unbeknownst to them, viewers are the ones deciding their fates.

Per Deadline, The Run is a Benacus Entertainment production in association with RNF Productions. Seth Michaels, Sara Sometti Michaels, and Reece Foster of Benacus and RNF released a statement praising Raschid's past work and expressing their excitement to work with "such an ensemble of talented actors," who are currently filming The Run in Northern Italy.

They've followed Raschid's career since initially meeting him in 2018 and have looked forward to exploring this untapped medium alongside him, especially on the heels of Netflix's success with Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.

In general, Netflix has carved out quite the niche with this kind of interactive content, creating several specials in various genres, such as the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt's "Kimmy vs. the Reverend" and the choice-driven rom-com Choose Love starring Laura Marano.
