It's a race against time to find an abducted girl in the Amber Alert (2024) trailer
Ready for a high-speed chase? That's what you're signing up to see when you watch the upcoming thriller Amber Alert. Lionsgate just dropped the thrilling official trailer, and in it, we see Scream VI's Hayden Panettiere and Abbott Elementary's Tyler James Williams participating in a chase across the city when they spot a child abductor speeding away on the road with a missing girl in tow.
Will they find the kidnapped girl before it's too late? The only way to find out is by watching Amber Alert when it releases in select theaters and on-demand on Sept. 27, 2024. You can check out the trailer above.
We first learned of Amber Alert back in February 2024 when it was announced that Lionsgate had acquired worldwide rights to the thriller and would be releasing it domestically. Kerry Bellessa was revealed to be the director and had co-written the screenplay with Joshua Oram. Both had previously worked together on the found-footage horror film Amber Alert and the mystery thriller Immanence. In addition, Bellessa, Joseph Restaino, Tony Stopperan, Summer Bellessa, and Leal Naim were announced to be the film's producers.
Panettiere and Williams were announced to star and executive produce. We follow Jaq, a young woman excited to start her first day at a new job, and a rideshare driver named Shane, who drives people around as a side job to make a little extra cash. As Jaq is driven to her new job by Shane, they both receive an alert of a child abduction on their phones. After realizing they're behind the kidnapper's car, they embark on a high-speed chase to track them down and save the child's life.
Panettiere plays the role of Jaq, while Williams portrays Shane. Saidah Arrika Ekulona (A League of Their Own, Bob Hearts Abishola) and Kevin Dunn (God's Favorite Idiot, Not Quite Narwhal) also star in the roles of Cici and Sgt. Casey.
I don't know about you, but after watching that trailer, I'm more than ready to see this new thriller. Amber Alert will be released in select theaters and on digital on Sept. 27. Will you be seeing it?
