Jennifer Lawrence to both produce and star in The Wives for A24 and Apple
When you're as talented as Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, you're bound to stay booked and busy. Adding to her filmography is the upcoming murder-mystery flick The Wives. More on this film and Lawrence's involvement below.
The Wives is being described as a whodunnit type of movie that's partly inspired by the Real Housewives franchise. But plot details are being kept under wraps at the moment. Apple acquired the film after a highly competitive situation, and the company is said to be re-teaming with A24 to produce it. Both companies previously collaborated on the 2022 drama movie Causeway, which also starred Lawrence.
Michael Breslin and Patrick Foley, who previously collaborated on the play Circle Jerk, will write the screenplay. Lawrence is set to star and produce the film under her Excellent Cadaver production banner. Justine Ciarrocchi will produce the movie alongside Lawrence for Excellent Cadaver. Joining Lawrence and Ciarrocchi as producers are Tony and Independent Spirit Award nominee Jeremy O. Harris and Josh Godfrey, who will produce under their bb2 banner. Additionally, the film is currently in development with no director attached to it so far.
Sadly, that's all that's been revealed about The Wives for now. As more information about this murder-mystery comes out, we'll make sure to come back and share everything we found. But for now, we recommend watching some of Lawrence's most recent projects, like the 2023 sex comedy film No Hard Feelings, which is currently streaming on Netflix. Afterward, we recommend checking out the sci-fi comedy flick Don't Look Up and the romantic drama film Serena. Both of these movies are also streaming on Netflix.
