Jersey Shore star Jenni "JWoww" Farley is trying something new with her upcoming directorial feature film debut Devon, a found-footage horror film that was recently acquired by Cineverse.

Described as "every parent's worst nightmare," Devon follows a group of friends investigating an unsolved disappearance. One day, a girl named Devon disappears from an asylum, leading her parents on a long and arduous search to find her. But with the asylum later condemned, the trail goes cold and her parents are at a loss. Years later, a mysterious advertisement on a website invites individuals to explore the abandoned asylum and potentially find out what happened to the missing girl.

"Unaware that they are embarking on a perilous, one-way journey, these individuals delve into the sinister depths with only their equipment, leading to a terrifying and deadly experience," says the Cineverse press release.

The announcement comes via a Variety exclusive after Farley spoke with them about her movie, which she says is a low-budget indie project. Devon marks the reality star's directional debut.

A long-time horror fan, Farley shared on Instagram that she's wanted to make this movie for a while, ever since she and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi visited the famously haunted Pennhurst Asylum while filming their reality show Snooki & JWoww.

According to her Instagram post, the idea came to fruition during the pandemic when she was able to work alongside some friends to make the movie happen and it will finally be released this fall! As a Cineverse acquisition, the movie be distributed in North America by Screambox this November.

No word yet on the film's cast, it'll be interesting to see if any other faces from Jersey Shore turn up! Otherwise, Farley continues to star on the hit MTV reality show Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, which wrapped its seventh season this past May.

“I am thrilled to be diving into the horror space alongside Cineverse and Screambox who have the industry and fandom knowledge to see that ‘Devon’ lands in the hands of the right audience. As a longtime reality TV veteran, I’m excited to kick off this new chapter in the horror movie genre and hope that ‘Devon’ is just the beginning,” Farley said in her statement, per Variety.

Devon premieres on Screambox on Nov. 12. To stay up to date on thrillers, sci-fi, and horror, bookmark 1428 Elm and follow our Facebook page and Twitter account!
