How far would you go to protect your child? A question at the very heart of the upcoming film Little Bites from writer and director Spider One. In his director's statement, Spider mentions creating this film as an unflinching look at parenthood, with the central monster, a flesh-eating being called Aygar, functioning as an "allegory" for his own journey with parenthood.

Embedded above is the official full-length trailer for Little Bites, which follows Mindy (Krys Fox) a struggling widow trying to protect her daughter Alice (Elizabeth Caro) from Aygar, a terrifying monster that lives in the downstairs section of their house, presumably the basement.

Aygar hungers for Alice, but Mindy refuses to give up in the fight and instead allows the monster to take huge bites from her own flesh to pacify it. But as its hunger grows, Mindy finds herself struggling to keep the beast sated and begins looking for more victims to lure into her home and Aygar's waiting maw.

Horror fans will be pleased to see several legends of the genre turn up here, like Barbara Crampton as Sonya Whitfield and Heather Langenkamp as a character named Ellenor. Bonnie Aarons, who you might recognize as Valak in The Conjuring franchise, also stars as a mysterious character simply named "Mother."

Even more interesting is that Little Bites is executive produced by Cher, yes that Cher. The superstar's son, Chaz Bono, also has a role in the movie as Paul. You can see a quick glimpse of him, Crampton, and Langenkamp in the trailer along with some new photos released for the film below.

Those eager to see Little Bites on Shudder will have to wait a while as a date hasn't been announced yet, but the movie is an official Fantastic Fest 2024 selection and will be released in theaters on October 4 along with becoming available to rent on VOD.
