M3GAN, Don't Breathe 2, and 5 more horror movies streaming on Starz in August

Starz has released its complete list of shows and movies coming to the streaming platform this August. While looking over the list, we noticed that there were several horror films included. Below, we shared all the horror movies slated to be released on the Starz app in August 2024.

King Kong (2005)

Starz release date: Aug. 1, 2024

Serving as a remake to the 1933 classic of the same name, King Kong follows an ambitious director and his cast and crew as they set out on a journey to the mysterious Skull Island to film a new movie. But things go awry when the leading lady is captured by the monstrous gorilla, Kong, on the island. Now, the rest of the crew must find a way to rescue her while also fighting against other dangerous creatures that they encounter on their travels.

Naomi Watt, Jack Black, Adrien Brody, Thomas Kretschmann, Colin Hanks, Jamie Bell, and Andy Serkis star in this box-office hit.

Model House (2024)

Starz release date: Aug. 1, 2024

Model House centers around five swimsuit models who find themselves on a fight for survival when mysterious intruders break into the secluded house they're staying in and hold them captive. Scout Taylor-Compton, Chris Zylka, Cory Anne Roberts, and many others star in this horror film.

Scary Movie 5 (2013)

Starz release date: Aug. 1, 2024

If you're wanting to watch something more on the comedy side, you'll be happy to know that Scary Movie 5 will be released on Starz this August. The horror comedy revolves around a young couple who begin to experience strange paranormal activity in their new home after taking in their lost nieces and nephews. The cast is made up of Ashley Tisdale, Simon Rex, Erica Ash, Katrina Bowden, Terry Crews, Heather Locklear, J. P. Manoux, Mac Miller, Jerry O'Connell, and others.

Don't Breathe 2 (2021)

Starz release date: Aug. 10, 2024

Don't Breathe 2 serves as a sequel to the 2016 horror-thriller Don't Breathe. It takes place several years after the events of the first movie. Stephen Lang reprises his role as blind veteran, Norman Nordstrom. In the film, Norman hides out in an isolated cabin with a young girl named Phoenix who he's raising as his own daughter. However, his peaceful life in isolation is disrupted when a group of criminals kidnap Phoenix. This leads Norman to embark on a dangerous rescue mission.

Joining Lang in the cast are Brendan Sexton III, Madelyn Grace, Adam Young, Bobby Schofield, Rocci Williams, Christian Zagia, and many others.

The Shallows (2016)

Starz release date: Aug. 11, 2024

The Shallows stars Gossip Girl's Blake Lively as a medical student named Nancy Adams who finds herself fighting for her life when she's left stranded on a large rock in the middle of the ocean with great white sharks swarming nearby.

M3GAN (2022)

Starz release date: Aug. 24, 2024

M3GAN was arguably one of the best horror films of 2022. When roboticist Gemma gifted her niece one of her latest inventions, a life-like artificially intelligent doll named M3GAN, she wasn't expecting it to begin to exhibit increasingly unpredictable and dangerous behavior. With M3GAN becoming more and more dangerous as she evolves, Gemma must quickly find a way to put a stop to her before it's too late.

The cast includes Allison Williams, Violet McGraw, Ronny Chieng, Jenna Davis, Amie Donald, and many othes.

Ghostbusters (2016)

Starz release date: Aug. 26, 2024

Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! Serving as a reboot to the 1984 film of the same name, Ghostbusters follows a new team of ghost hunters consisting of four eccentric women. After discovering an increase in ghost sightings and paranormal activity in New York, the team bands together to save the city. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Charles Dance, Michael K. Williams, and Chris Hemsworth all star in this film.
