March is bringing a lot of Joe Bob Briggs and The Last Drive-In content to Shudder

Shudder is pretty much making Joe Bob Briggs king for the month of March, with three different features on the roster. First up was The Last Drive-In: The Ones Who Live, which aired March 1 at 9:00 p.m. on both Shudder TV and AMC+ TV. It will be available to watch on demand as of March 3.

March 15 will bring us The Last Drive-In Live: A Tribute to Roger Corman. This double feature was filmed at Joe Bob’s Drive-In Jamboree, which was held at the West Wind Las Vegas Drive-In in October of 2023. Shudder did not announce which films would be featured on the special, but we know there were four films shown during the Jamboree: A Bucket of Blood, Deathstalker, The Wild Angels and The Trip. The tribute special will air at 9:00 pm on Shudder TV and AMC+ TV, and will then be available to stream on demand on March 17.

According to Joe Bob’s Assistant, the Roger Corman special will be available in both the US and Canada.

Then comes the big news we Mutants have been waiting for! Season six of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs will air its first episode on Friday, March 29. A new episode will air every other Friday until Labor Day, which is September 2. This season will be a little different than the first five in a couple of ways. First, the series is moving to every other week rather than weekly, which at least gives us a longer season. Prior seasons have run April through July.

The other change is that we are going from the traditional double features to single feature episodes. It’s expected that the structure of the show will remain the same, with Joe Bob, Darcy and the crew of The Last Drive-In providing commentary and hijinks, and the occasional special guest dropping in now and again.

So, gear up for a Joe Bob-filled month in March!
