After the season 2 finale of House of the Dragon, which aired on August 4, Max released a 1:55-minute teaser video to preview its upcoming slate of new and returning Max and HBO Original series. Among the shows featured is a first look at the highly anticipated series, the It prequel Welcome to Derry, and the second season of the Emmy-nominated series The Last of Us.

The sneak peek is part of Max's teaser for the full 2024-2025 roster of original shows coming out, so the glimpses of It: Welcome to Derry and The Last of Us season 2 are very minor but still our first official, proper look at each one!

It: Welcome to Derry

Our peek at this show starts around the 1:03-minute mark in the video and opens with a group of kids walking outside beneath the train tracks. It cuts to a "Welcome to Derry" billboard that features Paul Bunyan, whom fans of the book and movie will recognize as someone Pennywise brings to life in a terrifying scene from It: Chapter 2.

The rest of the sneak peek shows a series of clips showing different characters being terrorized, likely by Pennywise. There's also a creepy shot of a woman smiling in a very clown-like fashion from behind a glass storefront window. The reflection of a red balloon appears.

The Last of Us season 2

The Last of Us season 2 teaser starts at the 1:17 mark. It opens with a look at the aftermath of season 1 when Joel escaped with Ellie after killing the Fireflies. We get our first glimpse of Catherine O'Hara, who appears to be questioning Joel regarding the truth about what happened in Salt Lake City. Details about her character have yet to be revealed.

Elsewhere, Ellie struggles with survivor's guilt. Additionally, we do get a quick peek at two other important characters: Kaitlyn Dever as Abby and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac Dixon. Wright also played Isaac in The Last of Us Part II video game. The rest of the video is just a lot of teasing about the horrors to come next season.

For now, you can revisit the first season of The Last of Us. It: Chapter One and It: Chapter Two are available to rent or purchase, though they are not currently streaming on Max (It: Chapter One is on Tubi).
