Move over Five Nights at Freddy's, Poppy Playtime is coming to terrorize us all in theaters

Five Nights at Freddy's ended up being a box office hit when it was released in theaters back in October 2023, and luckily, fans have a sequel to look forward to in the future. Now, we've just learned that another popular video game is set to be adapted for the big screen. We're talking about Poppy Playtime. We shared everything we know so far about the upcoming movie down below.

Like the Five Nights at Freddy's movie, Poppy Playtime is based on a video game. It's based on the 2021 first-person survival horror video game of the same name by Mob Entertainment, which follows a former employee of a now-abandoned toy-making company who decides to revisit his old job only to find that the factory is filled with vengeful toys who are alive and ready to attack. Poppy Playtime is one of the evil toys, as well as Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, CatNap, etc. Throughout the video game, the player must solve puzzles and use gadgets to uncover the mystery and progress further in the game while avoiding the malicious toys.

There have been three chapters of the video game to be released so far, with a fourth chapter currently in the works. You can play the first chapter on Steam, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. In addition, the second chapter can be played on Steam, iOS, and Android, while the third chapter can be played on Steam.

After a highly competitive bidding war, Legendary emerged as the winner and closed on a deal with American indie game developer Mob Entertainment to develop and produce a live-action movie adaptation of Poppy Playtime. The company will develop and produce alongside Mob Entertainment and Angry Films’ Don Murphy and Susan Montford.

Unfortunately, details of the horror movie's plot have yet to be revealed, but it will most likely be similar to the video game's plot. Also, no actors have been cast yet, nor has the release date been announced. However, this isn't surprising since the film is in early development. Don't worry!
