Netflix & Chills 2024 lineup leads with 26 scary titles, including new Unsolved Mysteries
By Mads Lennon
One thing Netflix understands is that while Halloween might not be until October 31, no one really waits that long to start celebrating the best annual holiday. That's why they're kicking off Netflix & Chills early, with many titles coming to the streaming service this month!
Netflix has been running its festive "Netflix & Chills" lineup for several years now, though last year got skipped due to the strikes. Thankfully, it looks like the 2024 highlights are going to more than make up for the lapse with new episodes of Unsolved Mysteries, a Stranger Things in-person event at Six Flags Fright Fests around the US, and the debuts of multiple new films and series from around the globe.
The streamer will also be adding some older horror movies like last year's Evil Dead Rise, Halloween, and It: Chapter 2 to mix up the new and the old for those planning proper marathons. Keep reading to find out everything in store for this year's Netflix & Chills!
Unsolved Mysteries, Vol 5 (Oct. 2)
The long-running series returns with four new episodes, this time involving baffling disappearances, more alien/UFO stuff, and unexplained deaths. All four episodes will drop at the same time. Volume 4 is now streaming.
It's What's Inside (Oct. 4)
Writer/director Greg Jardin brings us an exciting new film about a pre-wedding party that becomes one long, extended nightmare after an estranged friend shows up carrying a mysterious suitcase and a weird game that brings all sorts of old secrets and grudges to light. The film earned some great feedback when it premiered at Sundance earlier this year, so this is one of our most anticipated upcoming Netflix releases of the year.
Woman of the Hour (Oct. 18)
Based on the true story of American serial killer Rodney Alcala, also known as the Dating Game Killer, Woman of the Hour marks actress Anna Kendrick's directorial debut. The film follows an actress in the 1970s that mistakenly chooses Rodney while on a popular reality series The Dating Game, unaware that he's a cold-blooded murderer.
Don't Move (Oct. 25)
Kelsey Asbille and Finn Wittrock star in this tense thriller about a woman seeking isolate deep in an isolated forest where she's injected with a paralytic agent by a stranger. She's then forced to fight for her life while her body slowly shuts down.
Time Cut (Oct. 30)
Several Netflix alums star in this teen slasher film about a teen girl traveling back in time to the early 2000s to stop a vicious killer. From director Hannah Macpherson and starring Madison Bailey (Outer Banks), Antonia Gentry (Ginny & Georgia), Griffin Gluck (Locke & Key), and more.
