Netflix's The Boroughs casts Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard and more
Back in April 2023, Netflix gave a series order to a new supernatural mystery called The Boroughs from Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance). Addiss and Matthews are the creators and showrunners. Also, at this time, Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer, aka the Duffer Brothers, were announced to be executive producing the show with Hilary Leavitt through their production banner Upside Down Pictures. Now, we've just learned who will be starring in the eight-episode sci-fi series.
Six well-known actors have been added to the cast. They are Alfred Molina (Solar Opposites, Spider-Man: No Way Home) as Sam, Geena Davis (Blink Twice, Beetlejuice) as Renee, Alfre Woodard (Summer Camp, Clemency) as Judy, Denis O’Hare (Evil, American Horror Story) as Wally, Clarke Peters (Eric, Da 5 Bloods) as Art, and Bill Pullman (Murdaugh Murders: The Movie, The Sinner) as Jack.
The series is set at a retirement community in the New Mexico desert where a bunch of unlikely heroes aka senior citizens are forced to band together to put a stop to a supernatural threat. While it's still unclear who will be playing the senior citizens, our guess is that it will be some of the cast members mentioned above, if not all. Once this information is revealed, you'll be the first to know.
Along with the new cast announcements, Netflix announced that Ben Taylor (Sex Education, Catastrophe) had signed on as an executive producer and would be directing multiple episodes, including the premiere episode. However, an official release date has not been announced yet.
Unfortunately, this is the only new information that's been revealed about The Boroughs. Besides this supernatural series, the Duffer Brothers have a couple of other projects that fans can look forward to, such as the fifth and final season of Stranger Things and a Stranger Things animated series.
