New series to join the Anne Rice Immortal Universe on AMC next year

AMC Networks debuted Interview with the Vampire, the first series in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe in October of 2022. Three months later, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches premiered, and now AMC has announced a third upcoming series.
Anne Rice’s The Talamasca (which is a working title) is set to debut in 2025, and it focuses on a group of people who track and hold vampires, witches, werewolves and the like all over the world. Some of the characters in The Talamasca have already been featured in Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches, but we will soon find out more about their fascinating stories.
Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire recently began its second season, and it has been critically acclaimed. In season two, journalist Danile Molloy (played by Eric Bogosian) has connected with a member of the Talamasca, who is giving him more information about interviewee Louis de Pointe du Lac. Louis is, of course, a vampire. Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches is currently producing its second season in Dublin.
Mark Lafferty and John Lee Hancock are the writers, executive producers and showrunners of The Talamasca, and Hancock will also direct the series, which is expected to premiere at the end of 2025.
Dan McDermott, president of entertainment for AMC Networks said that the story of The Talamasca was one they wanted to produce from the beginning stages of development for the Anne Rice Immortal Universe. He proclaimed the network is “thrilled to have such a high level of talent involved.”
John Lee Hancock says, “I was intrigued by the idea of an organization that, to me, had more than a passing resemblance to the CIA or MI6, which are necessary but not always necessarily transparent.” The Talamasca seemed to him to be similar due to the fact that it had secrets as well.
The first season of The Talamasca will consist of six episodes, and will begin shooting in Manchester, England in the fall.
