Nope, Jaws, and 7 horror titles coming to Starz in May 2024

May is here, which means summer is on the horizon. Starz is celebrating the season with the addition of notable blockbuster flicks like Jaws and Nope. Below, we're highlighting the best horror additions coming to Starz in May 2024.

In addition to the following horror films, genre fans might also be interested in checking out new titles making their streaming debuts on Starz in May, including The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (May 14) and the John Woo action-thriller Silent Night (May 29).

Hostel (2005) and Hostel: Part II (2007)

• Starz release date: May 1

Both Hostel films are coming to Starz on May 1. Hostel is the gruesome 2005 horror movie from writer and director Eli Roth that gave the Saw franchise a run for its money regarding gore and torture. Set in Slovakia, Hostel follows a group of American tourists who get taken by a clandestine organization that enjoys torturing and slowly killing its captives. Jay Hernandez, Derek Richardson, and Eythor Gudjonsson star in this horror film that is not for the faint of heart.

Hostel: Part II takes things in a different direction, this time focusing on a trio of American women vacationing in Rome. Part II stars Lucifer alum Lauren German and Welcome to the Dollhouse actress Heather Matarazzo. When the group finds themselves lured into a horrifying game, they must do whatever it takes to survive. For all the criticism levied at the Hostel films, I think that Part II is surprisingly fun and underrated, in addition to delivering a great final girl.

Jaws (1975)

• Starz release date: May 1

The movie that invented the summer blockbuster is arriving just in time for the hottest months of the year—how timely! Starz is adding all four movies in the saga, and while the first is obviously the best, if you're into shark attack movies, it might be worth it to add the others to your watchlist! And by others, I mean Jaws 2, Jaws 3-D, and Jaws: The Revenge.

Nope (2022)

• Starz release date: May 18

Jordan Peele's fantastic neo-Western horror movie Nope is making its Starz debut on May 18, and we cannot wait to rewatch it. The acclaimed film stars Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer as siblings who find themselves forced to contend with a mysterious, unidentified flying object. Fittingly, Peele actually cites Jaws as one of several movies that inspired his creation of Nope, so it would make a great double feature!
