Paramount+ just recently added 5 horror movies (and 2 more to come in August 2024)

It's officially August 2024, and Paramount+ has been adding new content to its platform. On Aug. 1, the streamer released five horror movies, and we can expect two more to drop on the platform later in the month.

Horror movies that were added to Paramount+ on Aug. 1

Cujo (1983)

  • Only available to Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan

Based on Stephen King's 1981 book of the same name, Cujo follows a mother and son who are trapped inside a car as they try to fight off a rabid, increasingly violent, and bloodthirsty dog. Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh-Kelly, Danny Pintauro, Ed Lauter, Christopher Stone, and others star in this horror classic. You can check out the trailer above.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)

Invasion of the Body Snatchers is another horror classic based on another piece of work. It's based on Jack Finney's 1954 science-fiction novel The Body Snatchers and follows a local doctor as he works to put an end to an extraterrestrial invasion that's taken over his small town. Kevin McCarthy, Dana Wynter, Larry Gates, King Donovan, Carolyn Jones, Jean Willes, and Ralph Dumke all star in this sci-fi horror flick.

Jacob's Ladder (1990)

Jacob's Ladder revolves around Jacob Singer, a Vietnam War veteran struggling to maintain his sanity as he is constantly plagued with horrifying flashbacks to his time in Vietnam and haunted by bizarre hallucinations. As he descends more into madness, he desperately tries to search for answers.

Academy Award-winning actor Tim Robbins stars in the leading role of the troubled war veteran, Jacob Singer. Joining him in the cast are Elizabeth Peña, Danny Aiello, Matt Craven, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and many others.

The Cave (2005)

The Cave centers around a team of expert cave divers and scientists who find themselves trapped in an underwater cave network with deadly, mutated, bloodthirsty creatures. The cast is made up of Cole Hauser, Morris Chestnut, Eddie Cibrian, Rick Ravanello, Marcel Iureș, Lena Headey, Piper Perabo, and others.

The Faculty (1998)

Set at an American high school, The Faculty follows a group of teens who, after discovering that alien parasites have taken over their teachers and school staff, band together to fight against the alien invasion. Jordana Brewster, Clea DuVall, Laura Harris, Josh Hartnett, Shawn Hatosy, Famke Janssen, Piper Laurie, and many others make up the cast.

Horror movies coming to Paramount+ later in August

Cabin Fever (2002)

Paramount+ release date: Aug. 12, 2024

Directed by Eli Roth, Cabin Fever centers around a group of college friends who decide to rent a cabin in the woods for vacation, only to soon find themselves fighting for their lives when a mysterious flesh-eating virus begins spreading among them. The cast includes Rider Strong, Jordan Ladd, James DeBello, Cerina Vincent, Joey Kern, Arie Verveen, and Giuseppe Andrews. This movie will only be available to Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan.

Extra Ordinary (2019)

Paramount+ release date: Aug. 24, 2024

Extra Ordinary is a comedy horror film about a kindhearted driving instructor with the supernatural ability to communicate with spirits. Because of this supernatural talent, she is asked for help in saving a desperate father's daughter from being sacrificed in a satanic ritual by a one-hit wonder rock musician.

The cast comprises Maeve Higgins, Barry Ward, Will Forte, Claudia O'Doherty, Jamie Beamish, Terri Chandler, Risteárd Cooper, and Emma Coleman. In addition, this movie will only be available to Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan.
