Golden Globe nominee and James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has several projects he's currently working on, and it looks like he just added another one. He has reportedly joined the cast of a new werewolf movie titled Wolfland. More on his casting and the film below.

We first learned of Brosnan's casting and the movie on May 14. Variety had reported that Brosnan would be leading a new werewolf film called Wolfland, which would be helmed by his son Sean Brosnan, an actor-turned-filmmaker. Sean would be directing from a script he co-wrote with Matt D’Elia, marking this as his second feature film he's helmed. He had previously wrote and directed the action film My Father Die.

Marcus Warren will be producing the werewolf movie for Light Sound Frequency and Christian Moore for The Consortium, while The Exchange is signed on to executive produce and handle worldwide sales at the Marché du Film in Cannes. In addition, Andy Serkis' Imaginarium Studios will be providing creature design and effects.

The werewolf thriller is being described as an "epic odyssey," following a teen boy who leaves his small town in search of a legendary werewolf hunter who can reverse the werewolf curse that has affected his sister. The boy eventually finds the hunter in a bar and asks for their assistance. The hunter agrees to help and sets out with the boy to take down the werewolf who attacked his sister. But they soon find themselves "in a deadly whirlwind of carnage."

While it's unclear who Brosnan will portray in the film, our guess is that he'll play the werewolf hunter. We can't wait to find out who will be cast as the teen boy. There are so many talented young actors nowadays that could be potentially cast. Since filming is expected to start later this year in the U.K., we should be hearing of some new cast additions soon.

Here's what Sean had to say about his dad signing on to star in his new film via Variety:

"I’m excited to be working with Pierce on a film that aims to redefine the werewolf sub-genre. With the amazing special effects talents at Imaginarium, we’ll craft a werewolf transformation set to rival the iconic scenes from ‘An American Werewolf in London.’ We’re thrilled about the potential impact of an expanding ‘Wolfland’ universe."
