The day we've all been waiting on has finally arrived! The first two episodes of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School are now streaming on Max, and it didn't take long at all for fans to start watching them. The first season ended on a shocking cliffhanger, so viewers were eager to see how the story would continue in the second season. Luckily, the loose ends that were left at the end of season 1 were pretty much tied up in the first episode of season 2. We even find out some juicy information about Imogen's baby and its adoptive parents in the premiere.

Spoilers ahead from Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 1

In the first episode titled, "Chapter Eleven: Spookyspaghetti.com," we see Imogen having a hard time letting go of her baby, who we learn is named Estelle. She had been leaving diapers, milk formula, and other things for Estelle at her adoptive parents' house, which turns out not to be Aria and Ezra from the original series. Instead, it's a lovely couple from Millwood named Rob and Blake Winter.

Even though A, aka Archie Waters, is eventually arrested by the police after having escaped from the hospital in the season 1 finale, Imogen fears that he might escape again and come after her and Estelle. So, she's been visiting Estelle's adoptive parents frequently, sometimes unannounced. But this isn't the only reason why she's been doing this. Dr. Sullivan suspects it has something to do with Imogen regretting her decision to give Estelle up. However, Imogen is adamant that that's not the case, even though it's evident that's the reason.

But the biggest question in all of this is why Aria and Ezra aren't Estelle's adoptive parents. In the season 1 finale, Imogen tells Tabby that she's going to give her baby to Aria and Ezra. So, why are Rob and Blake her adoptive parents instead? Well, Imogen explains to Dr. Sullivan in the season 2 premiere that the reason she called off the adoption was because she got a "weird vibe" from Ezra. What could Imogen have meant by this? It's unclear because the conversation moves on to something else, but the actress behind the Imogen character, Bailee Madison, shared her take on why the show's creative team decided to change Estelle's adoptive parents in an interview with Us Weekly.

"I understood what was probably coming. I think that there was some hesitation by viewership when they found out that information. So the thing that [creators] Roberto [Aguirre-Sacasa] and Lindsay [Calhoon Bring] and all of us, I think try to do so well is to be as thoughtful and mindful towards the subject matters that we’re dealing with. So I wasn’t surprised by that."

If you recall from the original series, many fans didn't like the Aria and Ezra pairing because of the teacher-student romance. The show got a ton of backlash for going this route and for keeping them together in the end. So, it angered many fans to find out that Imogen would be letting her baby be adopted by them in the spinoff series. Ultimately, the Pretty Little Liars: Summer School's creative team decided to respect the fans' wishes and changed Estelle's adoptive parents to another couple in season 2.

What are your thoughts on this subject matter? Do you think the show's creative team made the right decision in switching Estelle's adoptive parents?
