Ryan Gosling is jumping into the world of horror by producing an adventure-comedy about zombies attempting to reintegrate into a "post-post-apocalyptic" society. Amazon MGM Studios recently landed the feature package based on the short story "I Used To Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale" from identical twin brothers Adam and Daniel Cooper, or The Cooper Twins, as they're also known.

Previously, Jeff Snieder reported on Amazon's acquisition of this package and claimed Gosling was also attached to star in the project. Deadline has clarified this is not true since there's no script yet, and casting hasn't started, but I'd love to see Gosling star in a zombie project, especially a comedic one!

The Cooper Twins are responsible for creating several acclaimed short films, several of which have been praised by notable festivals like TIFF and Cannes. Deadline reports that they've also worked on directing and editing trailers for some of the highest-grossing movies in the world for many of the major studios and streaming services like Apple, Warner Bros., Netflix, and Disney. Their trailer work has earned them a Daytime Emmy and 50 Golden Trailer Awards.

As for Gosling, the Oscar-winning actor has been on a significant hot streak in recent years, especially in 2023 when he starred in WB's mega-blockbuster film Barbie, which grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Next, he stars opposite Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall) in the sci-fi film Project Hail Mary, adapted from Andy Weir's novel of the same name, set to release on March 26, 2026. His latest movie, The Fall Guy, with Emily Blunt, is now available to rent or purchase. Gosling produced The Fall Guy and is producing Project Hail Mary, too.

Earlier this year, Gosling and Apple Original Films executive Jessie Henderson launched their production company General Admission, the banner under which Gosling and Henderson will produce I Used to Eat Brains, Now I Eat Kale. They inked a first-look deal with Amazon, and this project will be the first under that contract. General Admission is also producing Project Hail Mary.
