SCREAMBOX has plenty of new content joining their platform in August, including old favorites and new originals. Whether you enjoy thrillers, hardcore gore, or horror comedies, SCREAMBOX is sure to give every horror fan something to sink their teeth into in August.

August 9:

The Fanatic – John Travolta stars as an autistic man named Moose, who is obsessed with movie star Hunter Dunbar (played by Devon Sawa of Final Destination and Chucky fame). When Moose finally gets to meet Dunbar face to face, everything goes sideways in a bad and violent way. The Fanatic was directed by Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst.

August 13:

We Are Zombies (SCREAMBOX Original) – This horror comedy is based on comic series The Zombies That Ate the World. Karl, Maggie and Freddy are making a living during the zombie apocalypse by catching the “dead-ish” creatures and selling them. We Are Zombies is brought to us by RKSS, who created Turbo Kid and Summer of 84 (a personal favorite of mine).

August 23:

The Retaliators – Michael Lombardi is Pastor John Bishop, whose teenage daughter is viciously murdered. Pretty much abandoning his faith, Bishop sets out for revenge, aided by another man on a mission, Detective Jed Sawyer (played by the always excellent Marc Menchaca). The Retaliators is a brutal, bloody film that kept me on the edge of my seat, and it features appearances by musical artists such as Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach) and Zoltan Bathory (Five Finger Death Punch).

August 27:

The Funeral (SCREAMBOX Original) – This Turkish horror film is described as a slow burn, and is about a man named Cemal, who drives a hearse. A family contacts him to secretly move a young girl’s body, but things take a turn when the girl, clearly dead, becomes to come back to life.

August 30:

When a Stranger Calls – An inferior remake was released in 2006, but you can’t beat the 1979 original for thrills and chills. Carol Kane (Addams Family Values) is Jill, a young babysitter who gets that dreaded “have you checked the children” phone call. And yes, you guessed it…the calls are coming from inside the house.
