See how Hyun-su's story wraps up in Sweet Home season 3, arriving on Netflix in July 2024

It's been a little over six months since the second season of Sweet Home season 2 premiered on Netflix, and fans have been patiently waiting for the highly anticipated third and final season of the apocalyptic horror series to be released. Well, we have news to share that will surely lift up everyone's spirits. The streaming giant has finally set a release date for Sweet Home season 3, and its release isn't too far off. More on the release date below.

Back in June 2022, Netflix renewed the popular horror series for not only a second season but a third season as well. Season 2 was released on Netflix in December 2023, and in the season 2 finale credits, it was revealed that Sweet Home season 3 would be landing on Netflix in the summer of 2024. This meant that the third season could be released anywhere between June 20, 2024, and Sept. 22, 2024.

Naturally, we were keeping our fingers crossed for an early summer release because we couldn't wait to see how the story would continue after that epic season 2 finale. Well, it looks like our prayers have been answered because Netflix decided to hand out an early summer release like we had hoped.

Sweet Home season 3 is set to be released on Netflix on Friday, July 19, 2024. You can expect the entire third season to drop on this date at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET, which is the typical time that Netflix releases new content on its platform. If you're in the Central time zone, you're looking at a release at 2:00 a.m. CT on July 19.

It's unknown how many episodes will be in the third season, but our guess is that we're looking at between eight to 10 episodes. Season 1 had 10 episodes, while season 2 had eight. Hopefully, Sweet Home season 3 consists of 10 episodes since this is the final season. Once we find out the total episode count, you'll be the first to know.

Netflix promises fans that the third and final season of Sweet Home will "bring a fitting close to the epic series" and that each character's story will be wrapped up. Those characters include Hyun-su (Song Kang), Nam Sang-won (Lee Shin-Sung), Eun-hyeok (Lee Do-hyun), Yi-kyung (Lee Si-young), Eun-yu (Ko Min-si), Private Park (Jinyoung), Master Sergeant Tak (Yoo Oh-seong), and Kim Yeong-hu (Kim Moo-yeol).

Here's what the third season will be about via Netflix:

"In Season 3, the line between monster and human blurs with each passing moment and humanity grapples with the emergency of neohumans in a world on the brink of annihilation, marking the climax of the monsterization saga."
