Tatiana Maslany to be terrorized by 'unspeakable evil' in film from Longlegs director
Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany is set to star in a new horror movie titled Keeper, and we've got all the important details about the upcoming film to share with you below.
Maslany is best known for portraying multiple characters in the hit sci-fi thriller series Orphan Black. Then, she went on to star as the titular character Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk in the Disney+ miniseries She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. We'll see her next in an upcoming supernatural horror film called The Monkey, which also stars Theo James and Elijah Wood.
Now, with the announcement that she's been cast in Keeper, it looks like this is her year of horror, and we couldn't be more excited! Keeper centers around a young couple, Malcolm and Liz, who decide to get away for a romantic anniversary weekend at a secluded cabin only for the trip to take a left turn. Shortly after arriving at the cabin, Malcolm has to go back to the city, leaving Liz alone by herself in the cabin. While Malcolm is gone away, Liz finds herself encountering an evil supernatural entity that reveals the cabin’s horrifying secrets.
Maslany plays Liz, while Orphan: First Kill star Rossif Sutherland portrays Malcolm. Unfortunately, they're the only two actors that have been cast thus far. We'll likely learn of new cast additions as the movie moves further in the filmmaking process. Don't worry! We'll come back and share the names of the new cast members as they are announced.
In addition, Longlegs director Osgood Perkin directs the horror flick from a script written by Nick Lepard, with Chris Ferguson and Jesse Savath producing. Regarding executive producers, Maslany, Marlaina Mah, Noah Segal, Laurie May, Brian Kavanaugh Jones, Fred Berger, Peter Micelli, John Hegeman, Vince Totino, and Bonner Bellew are signed on. Lastly, Neon acquired rights to the film and will distribute it in the U.S. while also handling the international sales rights to the film in Cannes. Elevation Pictures will distribute the film in Canada.
That's all we know about Keeper for now. We'll return to this space to share new information as it's released, so be sure to stay tuned to 1428 Elm!
