The First Omen is coming to Hulu in May (plus here's when you can buy it!)

Watch the story leading to Damien's conception at home later this month.

It's time to revisit 2024's scariest movie yet, The First Omen, from director Arkasha Stevenson. On May 13, 20th Century Studios announced that the film would be coming to Hulu this May. It will be released via digital platforms beginning on May 28 before arriving on DVD and Blu-ray on July 30.

Set in 1971, The First Omen is a prequel to the 1976 film that started it all. Servant's Nell Tiger Free stars as a novice nun, Margaret, who travels all the way from America to Rome to take up the veil. The film chronicles the horrific events that lead to Damien's eventual birth.

Starting May 28, you can rent or purchase the movie digitally from retailers like Prime Video, Fandango, and Apple. If you're more of a physical media fan, you'll want to keep an eye out for the DVD and Blu-ray (Blu-ray + Digital Code) releasing on July 30.

Digital buyers can get the film in 4K UHD, HD, or SD. A two-movie bundle on sale that includes The Omen and The First Omen will also be available.

The First Omen will include several fascinating featurettes that take fans behind the scenes of the film's creation.

  • The Mystery of Margaret: Director Arkasha Stevenson and Nell Tiger Free discuss the character of Margaret and explore her relationships with the other characters. The discussion also features actors Bill Nighy and Maria Caballero from the film.
  • The Director's Vision: Stevenson talks about what inspired her to make this movie, her specific horror favorites, and what it was like expanding the story of The Omen.
  • Signs of The First Omen: Those who enjoy learning about practical effects and set design won't want to miss out on this one, as it invites the film's director and artist to reveal the symbolism and craftsmanship that went into designing the world of the film.

The First Omen is coming to Hulu on May 30

In addition to the digital and physical release information, the press release states that The First Omen will start streaming on Hulu beginning on May 30.

Currently, the five Omen movies are available on Hulu, including the original 1976 film, Damien - Omen II, The Final Conflict, Omen IV: The Awakening, and the 2006 remake from director John Moore.
