After a lengthy hiatus, Netflix's rebooted version of the mystery documentary series Unsolved Mysteries is returning with new episodes this July! The streaming service unveiled its lineup for next month, and Unsolved Mysteries volume 4 is listed as premiering on July 31.
According to What's On Netflix, volume 4 will consist of five episodes, likely to be released simultaneously. Previous Netflix volumes spread episodes across several weeks, but that doesn't appear to be the case this time.
Little is known about the upcoming season, but Netflix did share this logline:
"Cold cases, bizarre creatures and more puzzling events are reexamined by witnesses, law enforcement and experts in this chilling docuseries."
What's On Netflix also reports that volume 4 features directors Robert M. Wise, Skye Borgman, and Gabe Torres—all of whom have directed previous episodes of the docuseries for Netflix.
In addition to announcing the date for Unsolved Mysteries volume 4, Netflix also released several photos to tease what's to come.
One image shows former Calgary homicide detective Dave Sweet, who worked on hundreds of cases throughout his career and has appeared on other true crime docuseries like Crime Beat and Murder Wall.
Netflix's logline says this season will explore "bizarre creatures." A photo they released indicates that at least one of the creatures in question is a being with red eyes and bat-like wings.
The previous season of Unsolved Mysteries premiered on October 18, 2022, and featured cases about the 1994 Michigan UFO event, the disappearance of Joshua Guimond, and Colleen Stan's kidnapping.
Unsolved Mysteries volume 4 premieres exclusively on Netflix on Wednesday, July 31. To stay up to date on thrillers, sci-fi, and horror, bookmark 1428 Elm and follow our Facebook page and Twitter account!
