Watch hundreds of modern and classic horror films on Plex for free right now
By Mads Lennon
There are several great free streaming apps out there, but there's one you might be overlooking that currently has more than 50k free on-demand movies and television shows from notable partners like A24, Lionsgate, Paramount, and more. I'm talking about Plex, a streaming and search platform currently featuring hundreds of horror movies, all completely free to watch!
This includes classic horror movies like Halloween, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Sleepaway Camp, The Curse of Frankenstein, and many others.
- Halloween (1978)
- The Blair Witch Project (1999)
- Train to Busan (2016)
- The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
- I Saw the Devil (2010)
- The Babadook (2014)
- Oculus (2014)
- The Host (2006)
- Night of the Living Dead (1968)
- Triangle (2009)
- Nosferatu (1922)
- Eden Lake (2008)
- High Tension (2003)
- Day of the Dead (1985)
- The Collector (2009)

- The House of the Devil (2009)
- Maniac (2012)
- Phantasm (1978)
- Ginger Snaps (2000)
And those are just some favorites! Plex is brimming with all kinds of old and new horror movies, also including An American Werewolf in London, Hell House LLC, Piranha, Excision, Starry Eyes, Dagon, Hell Fest, The Love Witch, Possum, Tragedy Girls, and countless others.
As the largest independent AVOD and streaming platform right now, Plex also doubles as a great resource for those looking to find a specific movie on streaming. Even if it isn't available to watch on the platform, you can still search for any horror title and find out where it is streaming.
For example, I searched for the newest Saw film, Saw X, and Plex pointed me in the direction of Starz and all of the options available to rent or purchase the film digitally. Now you don't have to scour the internet looking for where the film you want to watch. You can find out all in one place!
Plex is available to watch on most devices; all you need to do is go to the website and click the download button in the top right corner. You can also register for an account (no credit card information required; it's all free!) to manage your watchlist and keep track of all of your movies and shows.
