Watch The Omen franchise on Hulu before catching The First Omen in theaters on April 5
By Carla Davis
The Omen first came to theatres in the summer of 1976, and became one of the highest-grossing films of that year. In the years since, it has accumulated multiple sequels and a remake – not to mention the upcoming prequel The First Omen, which will open in theatres on April 5.
Obviously, this would be the perfect time to binge all of the Omen movies, and Hulu is here to help. The entire Omen franchise is now streaming on Hulu, allowing you to watch them all before checking out The First Omen in a theatre.
Here’s a little breakdown for you:
The Omen (1976) – When American diplomat Robert Thorn (Gregory Peck) finds out that his wife Katherine (Lee Remick) has delivered their stillborn baby, he worries that Katherine won’t be able to handle the news emotionally. So he jumps at the opportunity to secretly substitute another child, which the two raise as their own. But something is just not right with little Damien, and the people around him begin to die in horrible ways.
Damien: The Omen II – Now 13 years old, Damien is living with his Uncle Richard (William Holden) and Aunt Ann (Lee Grant) in Chicago. The boy is sent to military school with his cousin Mark, but Great-Aunt Marion doesn’t like Damien, and threatens to leave Richard out of her will if he doesn’t agree to separate Damien and Mark. As people around the boy begin to suspect the truth, they start dropping like flies.
Omen III: The Final Conflict – Now an adult, Damien (Sam Neill) is beginning to assume a lot of power as an international conglomerate CEO. He has accepted his place as the Antichrist, and is on a mission to halt the upcoming second coming of Christ. When the second Star of Bethlehem is spotted, Damien tasks his followers with killing all infant boys who were born in England on March 24, and those closest to him start to see what he is.
Omen IV: The Awakening – This sequel was a television movie, and introduces us to Congressman Gene York and wife Karen. The two have been trying in vain to have a child, and end up adopting Delia from an orphanage. Seven years later, strange things begin to happen around Delia, including mysterious deaths. When New-Age practitioner Jo is hired as a nanny, she sees signs that point to Delia’s devilish lineage.
The Omen (2006) – Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles take on the roles of Robert and Katherine Thorn in this remake. The plotline is nearly identical to the original 1976 film.
