SCREAMBOX is back in April with a new schedule of great genre films. This month brings subscribers King of the Ants, Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies, What is Buried Must Remain, and much more. Let’s take a peek into what SCREAMBOX is offering in April!

What Is Buried Must Remain (April 12) – Described as “a modern ghost story with ancient roots,” this Lebanese found footage film is about a group of Syrian refugee filmmakers who are residing in a camp. As a way to get out of their situation, they decide to film a documentary about an abandoned supposedly haunted house. Interestingly, nearly all members of the cast and crew of What is Buried Must Remain are actually Syrian refugees.

Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies (April 12) – In this very different version of the story of Abraham Lincoln, 10-year old Abe loses both parents when his mother turns into a zombie and his father commits suicide. Abe dispatches mom with an scythe, and spends his life determined to kill zombies, while also serving as President of the United States.

Rise of the Zombies(April 12) – Originally airing on Syfy, Rise of the Zombies stars Mariel Hemingway, LeVar Burton, Danny Trejo and French Stewart, among others. When a virus sets the zombie apocalypse in motion, a group of survivors set up came on Alcatraz Island. Meanwhile, scientists work to come up with a cure to the virus.

King of the Ants (April 19) – Stuart Gordon, creator of Re-Animator, From Beyond brings us this thriller, which features Kari Wuhrer (Anaconda), George Wendt (House), Daniel Baldwin (John Carpenter’s Vampires) and Ron Livingston (The Conjuring). A young man desperate for money is by a corrupt contractor to kill the accountant in charge of auditing his finances.

Also coming to SCREAMBOX are:

The Night of the Scorpion – Oliver believes that he killed his wife when he was blackout drunk, and a year later he returns to his home with a new wife Ruth, joining his stepmother (a widow) and stepsister. While the first wife’s death was ruled an accident, Ruth begins to suspect that may not be the truth.

Mega Piranha – Genetically altered piranha have been set loose in a Venezuelen river, and manage to make their way to sunny Florida during the busy season. These superfish manage to live through a nuclear torpedo, and the special agent charged with stopping them decides to send out Scuba divers with guns. It seems shooting them should cause them to bleed, which should cause them to attack one another.

Bliss of Evil – In this low budget slasher, an indie rock band called Prom Night are trapped in their recording studio by a crazed killer.

Cocaine Crabs from Outer Space – I mean…the title of this one pretty much explains it. When two crabs from outer space arrive on earth, some frat boys give them cocaine, which makes them very violent. But, never fear, Detective Charlie Reese is on the case, and he brings in a pet store employee as back up.

Being Human – The three final seasons of this British series are now available to binge on SCREAMBOX. In the supernatural comedy series, three young adults share a house. Sounds pretty standard, right? Well, these three happen to be a werewolf, a vampire and a ghost.
