Alien fans have the chance to experience a unique interactive and immersive event ahead of the Alien: Earth premiere this summer. FX has revealed that Alien: Earth activation, dubbed "The Wreckage," will be available and free to public starting on Friday, May 16.

So what does this event consist of? Well it's meant to unearth new details from the upcoming show along with offering exclusive giveaways and photo opportunities. Because Alien: Earth is about a strange space vessel crash-landing on Earth, it makes sense that this latest event is a chance for fans to go inside the vessel in question.

A similar event was held at SXSW in Austin, Texas, where people could visit the USCSS Maginot wreckage and check out its highly classified operations.

It takes place at AREA15 Las Vegas, specifically the south lot, at 3215 S Rancho Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89102.

Event dates and hours:

  • Friday, May 16: 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
  • Saturday, May 17: 6:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

While the event is free and open to the public, it is a first-come first-serve experience. RSVPing is not required and only adults 18 or older are allowed to attend.

FX describes "The Wreckage" as a chance for "guests to embark on an exploratory mission where they will have the chance to discover newly added interactive elements, pulse-pounding thrills, and get up close and personal with alien specimens retrieved by Prodigy Corp. Visitors beware: a containment breach has occurred, and hidden dangers lurk within."

Alien: Earth is set in the year 2120, meaning before the original Alien movie. A recent teaser has revealed that the show will introduce five different species of Xenomorph, possibly related to the five companies in control: Prodigy, Lynch, Dynamic, Threshold, and Weyland-Yutani.

Sydney Chandler stars a young woman leading a group of soldiers to investigate the wreckage. The show comes from Fargo creator Noah Hawley and will debut this summer, though a date has not yet been announced.
