November 5:
Cryptids (SCREAMBOX Exclusive) – John Bloom / Joe Bob Briggs appears as a paranormal radio show host in this horror anthology film. In the film, Briggs’s radio show The Truth Serum takes on the topic of cryptozoology, and the phone calls begin to pour in. The topics for each segment include Bigfoot, Chupacabra, Frogman and more. Cryptids premiered at 2023’s HorrorHound Film Festival.
November 12:
Devon (SCREAMBOX Exclusive) – This film is described as “a found footage nightmare,” and was directed by Jenni “JWOW” Farley. It tells the story of five adventurous souls who go to a creepy old abandoned asylum to search for a missing girl.
November 19:
Street Trash – Originally released in 1987, this black horror-comedy deals with a case of poisoned alcohol that begins to affect local derelicts, causing them to literally melt. SCREAMBOX is producing a reboot that is slated to premiere in December.
November 29:
Cottage Country – A 2013 Canadian horror-comedy, Cottage Country stars Malin Akermin (The Final Girls) and Tyler Labine (Tucker & Dale vs Evil) as a couple about to become engaged at his family’s cottage. An accidental murder throws a wrench in the works, but the two are determined to follow through on wedding plans.
Other films coming to SCREAMBOX in November include:
The Wolf Hour – Naomi Watts is an author living a solitary existence in her late Grandmother’s apartment. Set during the so-called “summer of Sam,” The Wolf Hour deals with June’s attempts to break out of her self-imposed isolation.
Ghost Note – Teenaged Mallory is visiting with her family at her Grandmother’s for Thanksgiving, and finds a guitar in the attic while performing a séance. We all know that isn’t going to end well.
The Model – In this Danish thriller, model Emma is trying to make it as a top model in Paris. When she meets photographer Shane, big things begin to happen for both of them
The Raking – A group of anthropology students set out on a desert expedition to explore the urban legend of The Rake. The fabled creature has very long, very sharp fingers, thus its nickname.
The American Scream – This 2012 documentary profiles three different Massachusetts families, each of which set up their homes as elaborate haunts during Halloween. At the heart of this film, which documents the families’ obsession with horror, is the love they share.
