It’s baaaaaack! Shudder’s Season of Screams event is returning for horror fans on September 1st with another “supersized” lineup. This year’s event will run for four fear-packed months, and includes original series, specials, films and live watch parties, all designed to wrap up Shudder’s ten-year anniversary celebration.
Spotlighted will be iconic franchise horror films such as REC, 28 Weeks Later and The Blair Witch Project, plus we will see the return of Shudder’s Ghoul Log and the Halloween Hotline.
Joining the Shudder Resurrected library will be the original 1935 version of The Bride of Frankenstein, Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds, Rear Window, Psycho and Vertigo, and TV series Hemlock Grove and Bitten.

Revenge of the Ghoul Log – Shudder’s iconic hour-long lighted pumpkin video is back with a new version created by the Andujar Twins. They are the production design team responsible for Birth/Rebirth and this summer’s horror hit I Know What You Did Last Summer. The new Ghoul Log will begin streaming on October 1.
Shudder’s Halloween Hotline will be open for business at a date to be determined. Viewers can call in and speak with Shudder’s Head of Programming, Samuel Zimmerman. Sam will offer some lucky callers personal horror movie picks available on Shudder, based on the caller’s personal preferences and mood.
Dangerous Animals premieres on September 5. Zephyr, a free-spirited surfer in Australia is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and kept prisoner on his boat. Can she escape her bonds before the killer feeds her to the sharks?
Night of the Reaper (Shudder Original) makes its premiere on September 19. Set in the 1980s, Night of the Reaper intros us to college student Deena, who has agreed to a babysitting job. Deena ends up mixed up in a mystery that begins when a local sheriff receives a package that begins a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
House on Eden hits Shudder on September 26. A group of paranormal investigators explore an abandoned home deep in the woods, expecting it to be the same old same old. But this time, it seems like the scares are all too real, and dangerous.
V/H/S/Halloween (Shudder Original) will begin streaming on October 3. In this version of the popular franchise, some Halloween-themed videotapes contain six terrifying tales.
The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula: Titans season two premiere will be available to watch on October 7. Join the Boulets, celebrity judges and 14 past favorite drag artists as they compete in design, performance, and makeup challenges to win $100,000 and the title of Queen of the Underworld.
OTHER (Shudder Original) premieres on October 17. “Alice returns to her childhood home after her mother’s death, only to find the house is rigged with surveillance tracker her every move, as a sinister presence lurks, driving her towards a terrifying revelation.”
Fangoria’s Chainsaw Awards are back on October 19. Members of the Fangoria crew, along with horror legends honor horror movies and performances from the past year. The episode will air live, and will be available to watch on demand the following day.
Joe Bob’s Splatterween Special will premiere on October 24 with a surprise double feature that will include plenty of gore. Joining Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy will be rock legends GWAR.
Hell House LLC: Lineage (Shudder Original), fresh off its brief theatrical run, will premiere on October 30. Vanessa has been cursed with recurring nightmares in the years since her near-death experience, but is actually living in the town of Abaddon. When people around her start to die, she searches for her connection to the town’s hotel and the Carmichael Manor.
Abraham’s Boys: A Dracula Story comes to Shudder on November 7. In Joe Hill’s story, Abraham Van Helsing’s sons try to decipher the reasons behind their father’s paranoia and strange behavior.
The Creep Tapes begins its second season on a date to be determined. Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice continue to explore the mind of a serial killer who lures his victims by offering to pay them to document his life. Big mistake!
