Caitlin Stasey, celebrated for her standout performance in the hit horror film Smile, is ready to take on a new challenge as she takes the lead in the upcoming survival thriller Killing Breed. She is set to star in this movie, and we're here to share everything we know about it so far.

We must first start off by saying that there's not a lot known about this film at the moment since it was just announced. However, you can count on us to share every new piece of information as it is released.

Stasey is best known for starring as Laura Weaver in Smile. She played a crucial character in the film whose traumatic experience with a mysterious entity sets off a chain of events that drives the film's horror narrative.

In Killing Breed, it's unknown who she will be playing. However, we know what the movie will be about. It follows a family's desperate struggle for survival at a remote Outback lodge as they confront a devastating bushfire that is uncontrollably engulfing everything in its way. They also find themselves pitted against three vicious dogs that have been trained to kill and are now set loose in the wilderness.

Australian actor and filmmaker Matt Day wrote the script and will direct the thriller, which is slated to start filming in Australia in May 2025. Starring alongside Stasey in the cast is Damon Herriman (Better Man, The Bikeriders). However, who he will be portraying in the movie is also unknown. Besides Stasey and Herriman, no other actors have been attached to this project yet

Here's what Day had to say about getting the opportunity to make this film via Deadline:

"Killing Breed is a character-driven survival thriller grounded in raw, authentic emotion, and I’m beyond excited to have talents like Caitlin and Damon on board to bring this story to life."

In addition, Monster Pictures Studios, Head Gear Films, and Triptych Pictures are all behind this thriller flick. According to Deadline, Architect is handling worldwide sales and has already presented the movie to buyers. It is believed to come out sometime in 2026.
