Dark and broody horror film Little Bites made its world premiere at 2024’s Fantastic Fest, where it garnered a lot of positive reviews. Now the film is set for its streaming debut on Shudder in February.
With several very well-known cast members and a superstar executive producer, Little Bites looks pretty impressive. The film features Barbara Crampton (Jakob’s Wife), Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Bonnie Aarons (The Nun) and Chaz Bono (American Horror Story: Roanoke and AHS: Cult), and Krsy Fox (Terrifier 3) takes on the lead role of Mindy.
And that superstar executive producer? Oh, no big deal, it’s only CHER! That’s right, the iconic Cher joins Chaz Bono, Ian Hoge, Tyler Connolly, Wendy Berry and Mark Berry as an EP for the film. And screenwriter – producer – director Spider One just happens to be the younger brother of Rob Zombie (House of 1000 Corpses), so the pedigree of Little Bites is top notch.
With all of those top-shelf names involved, Little Bites looks promising for horror movie lovers. But what is the film about? Little Bites is the story of young widow and mom Mindy (Krsy Fox), who is trying her best to product her daughter Alice from a monster known as Agyar.
Agyar is a pretty nasty creature who eats human flesh, and Mindy has been allowing it to feed on her a little at a time, all the while hiding Alice away at her grandmother’s house in order to keep the monster away from her. You can watch the trailer at the end of this article. Judging by said trailer, it looks like Little Bites is going to have a good amount of gore, and I like the looks of the dark, creepy house.
Who exactly is the intriguingly-named Spider One?
Spider One (whose real name is Michael David Cummings) is a multi-talented guy who writes songs, produces music and writes and directs screenplays. He is also the founder (and the only consistent member) of the rock band Powerman 5000, and is married to Krsy Fox. Spider One created and produced the MTV series Death Valley, and broth wrote and directed the movies Allegoria and Bury the Bride.
A Movie Guy critic Leo Brady praised Little Bites for its “exploration of generational trauma, sacrifice, and the everyday struggles of women,” and described it as intriguing.
Little Bites will be available to stream on Shudder on Friday, February 21.
