SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 3 OF TEACUP

The secret is out regarding James and Valeria's affair. Maggie confronts her husband and Reuben overhears the conversation, leading to ample tension when James and Reuben pair up to go to the Navarro farm in search of help. It ends up not mattering anyway. All of the Navarros are already dead. More surprising is that they didn't die by crossing the blue line. Their bodies are scattered around the farm like the aftermath of a Michael Myers rampage. Something killed these people, but it doesn't appear to be the same thing that killed Claire when she tumbled over the line.

Speaking of Claire's tragic death, Donald has been unable to move from his wife's side ever since. He's just sitting there, like he's hoping she'll magically come back to him. It's not until Maggie coaxes him indoors, bandages his wounds, and administers a sedative that Donald calms down, though not before he starts blathering on about the body in the woods. A disturbed Maggie ventures out into the forest alone. Not smart. She finds the dead body of Carmen Navarro, the woman who infected Arlo.

What is inside Arlo's head, anyway? This episode starts to expand on that mystery. With the adults preoccupied, Meryl and Nicholas are put on babysitting duty. Arlo says "the man" inside his head is named Harbinger and it periodically takes control of him. Harbinger leads Meryl and Nicholas into the woods to show them a mysterious circular pit in the dirt, the implication being that Harbinger is an alien and that's the spot where he landed on Earth. Aliens? All of the animals in the vicinity of the circle are dead. In the middle, Arlo/Harbinger collects a rainbow-colored pool of sludge by pouring it into a glass jar. According to him, it's poison and they all need to drink it.

While everyone else is out traipsing around the woods in various perilous situations, Valeria and Ellen remain on the farm. They're sitting outside together when a man drives up and waltzes right over the blue line without dying. Anyone can come inside the blue line. It's when you try to leave the border that you die, as seen by Claire, the dog, and the snake.

At the Navarro farm, James and Reuben make several odd discoveries apart from the dead bodies. One body is found by an inflatable pool with instructions on how to resuscitate a dead body. Reuben notices something off about the silo, namely that a bunch of dogs are standing in front staring at it. In the process of investigating, someone locks Reuben inside it and James fares no better as he opens a door to the basement and an unseen person yanks him down into the abyss.
