SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 4 OF TEACUP

Things take a dark turn at the farm as Maggie, Valeria, and Ellen try to intuit what the new arrival wants. His name is Lieutenant Olsen. Everything about Olsen indicates he might be the real threat here, he could be Assassin. He implies that if he crossed paths with Carmen, he would have to kill her due to her becoming infected.

Ellen and Valeria open their big mouths and mention Arlo was in the woods last night. What if he came across Carmen? Maggie, understandably, lies about his location and lures Olsen into the barn so she can interrogate him. She doesn't trust him one bit, and why should she? Maggie found Carmen's body in the woods and saw the restraint marks on her wrists. Olsen has zip ties on his belt. It's not hard to put two and two together.

From him, we learn that whatever is on the other side of the blue line consists of strong, concentrated vibrations that immediately destroy complex organisms. He claims their survival depends on Maggie handing over her son. Maggie doesn't like that one bit so she knocks him out and restrains him. Ultimately, Olsen ends up in Ellen's care, which turns out to be a huge mistake as whatever is inside Olsen then infects Ellen. It looks like Ellen might be Assassin now.

Nicholas and Meryl's foray into the forest alongside Arlo/Harbinger takes a dark turn when they run into the guy wearing a gas mask. Like Olsen back on the farm, this guy walks right over the line, seemingly trapping himself inside. His goal is to take the jar of rainbow goop from Arlo. Attempting to defend Meryl and Arlo, Nicholas stabs the man with a knife.

The jar drops and shatters in the skirmish. No more poison or whatever that stuff was. Incapacitated with the gas mask removed, Meryl channels her mother and tries to stop the bleeding. Harbinger recognizes the man as McNab. He's not Assassin, but an ally. He'd previously tried to help Harbinger when he was inside Carmen. This time, he'd been trying to get Arlo/Harbinger into his car. "We were almost safe, but then you ran."

In the final moments of Teacup episode 4, we finally catch up with James and Reuben on the Navarro's farm. Inside the silo, Reuben is entranced by a tree decorated with a bunch of glowing, multi-colored lights. James finds himself held captive by another man wearing a gas mask. This mystery guy is immediately suspicious of James, unsure if he's there to finish him off or to help, and that means he's considering shooting James dead.
