More psychological storytelling is on the way from the very talented Korean filmmaker Yeon Sang-ho, the man behind the now-iconic zombie movie Train to Busan, a film many believe is one of the best of the genre.
His next film is coming to Netflix this March. Titled Revelations, the story revolves around the disappearance of a middle school-aged girl known for her frequent church attendance. It is believed that an ex-convict, who was recently released on house arrest, is the culprit behind her vanishing.
The title itself comes from the lead character, Pastor Min-chan (Ryu Jun-yeol), who believes he has received a divine mission to hunt down the man responsible. On the other side of the story is Detective Yeon-hui (Shin Hyun-been). Haunted by visions of his dead sister, Yeon-hui gets assigned to the case and starts to sense something is amiss between Min-chan and the former prisoner, Kwon Yang-rae (Shin Min-jae).
Revelations is just one of several projects that Sang-ho has worked on with Netflix. Previously, the director wrote and directed the sci-film Jung_E and the popular Korean horror series Hellbound. He collaborates yet again with Hellbound writer Choi Gyu-seok for this new film.
Netflix shared the first teaser for the film on Sunday (embedded above) and it seems like exactly the kind of suspenseful and darkly atmospheric film that fans of Sang-ho will enjoy.
Additionally, there is also a new poster for the movie that you can check out below. It shows Pastor Min-chan standing at a crime scene, suggesting the poor girl whose disappearance kicks off this story will not make it out alive. The tagline says, "with twisted faith, madness begins."

Acclaimed director Alfonso Cuarón executive produced the film.
Unfortunately for Hellbound fans, there is still no news on whether or not the horror show will be renewed for a third season. Season 2 was released in October 2024.
Revelations will be released exclusively on Netflix starting on March 21. Those interested in checking out the film can set a reminder for it right here.
