Having accessed the official Soul Game website, Miren is told that if she contacts the police, it's over. The game is meant to test those few "chosen," who cannot "ascend to heaven without pain." A 24-hour clock starts, after which the game will begin, if Miren chooses to participate.

It turns out the person who contacted Jaime really was Tomás. Paranoid, he now lives on a yacht and has been obsessively trying to figure out what happened to Laura ever since she disappeared. Tomás doesn't believe Laura ran away because she'd never abandon her brother. He provides Jaime with the files from her case, including the police report, witness statements, and more.

At home with his Aunt Mercedes and Uncle Cristóbal, Nacho receives a call from Miren. She wants him to try poking around at school to see if anyone knows anything about the Soul Game. Having just left her apartment, Miren doesn't notice when someone slips inside the building behind her.

On the official police investigation front, Chaparro and Belén arrive at the Los Arcos school to chat with Principal Garrido. Their contacts reveal that Allison's health records didn't indicate an abortion, meaning she couldn't have had it done at a public clinic.

Chatting with Garrido, Belén asks if he still practices at all, since he's on poor terms with the diocese. In Garrido's mind, following religious trends is antithetical. He prefers to adhere to Christ's most "pure" teachings, the old rites. He claims he didn't know that Allison was pregnant but would have convinced her to keep the baby. That every life belongs to God. While no longer a priest, Garrido treats his office like a confessional in many ways and tries to maintain confidentiality among students. When Belén and Chaparro first arrive, they notice another teary-eyed girl named Carmen exiting his office.

When Jaime and Miren next meet, Jaime provides her with the files he received from Tomás. They learn that Nacho was, in fact, not the last person to see Laura. He saw her getting on a bus, but later a florist noticed her getting off of a bus, a few stops away from where she would have normally departed to go to the Mendoza mansion. Miren and Jaime track down the witness who reveals that Laura got into an expensive car and drove away not long after.

Jaime tries contacting the original police investigator on the case, Julio Román. Román is unhelpful, shutting Jaime down immediately. He's adamant that Laura ran away, that the "witness" was mistaken and saw a different girl.

Seeing as Jaime previously attended Los Arcos, Miren questions if he's heard of the Soul Game. Jaime says the rumors of this game, or series of challenges, were all just urban legends. Not real. Miren argues that the game might be the connection between Laura and Allison's cases, though Jaime remains unconvinced.

Miren continues digging into the Soul Game and finds another Los Arcos student, Borja Pineda, who suffered a serious accident. She suspects he might have been participating in the game, too, and asks for Nacho's help in tracking him down. Miren's theory is correct. Borja says the "Raven of God" contacted him the same he did with Miren, via a series of notes and then a link to that sketchy website. The first test involves cutting yourself in the shape of a cross.

Following up on the abortion lead, Chaparro and Belén visit a public clinic mobbed by pro-life protestors. The clinician tells them that, yes, Allison did stop by, but left after learning the cost of the procedure and never returned. She had an altercation with one of the protestors, the most fanatic one, a man who returns every day. Guess who it is? Laura's uncle, Cristóbal!

And that's not all for revelations this week. Jaime returns to Tomás' yacht to tell him about what Román said. Tomás immediately dismisses the investigator, calling him an idiot and claiming the entire investigation was corrupt. He believes that Jaime needs to look into a secret organization known as The Slide, a sinister ring of pedophiles who make and distribute snuff films. Tomás believes that Laura might have been taken by them and specifically points out two men as potential suspects worth investigating: James Foster and David Luque.

Pause. Let's go back to season 1 for a second because this is important. Miren crossed paths with Foster and Luque because they received the footage of her rape and published it on their website. She hoped to use them to learn the identity of her attackers, but they were of no help. Luque and Foster are both dead, burned up in Foster's caravan after it mysteriously caught on fire. While not proven, the show heavily insinuates that Miren is the one who set fire to Foster's caravan and killed them both. Does that mean that Allison and Laura's cases could connect back to Miren's assault?

Back at her apartment, the clock runs out on the Soul Game trial period and Miren starts playing. The Raven sends a photograph of her mailbox, meaning the person who previously snuck into the building must have been affiliated with the game. Inside the package, she finds a box cutter. The Raven sends Miren a video of Allison undergoing the first test to cut herself, indicating that if Miren wants to learn more about what happened to Allison, she must also play the game. The episode ends with Miren filming herself taking the first cut in what will be a cross-shaped wound, just like Allison and Borja before her.

Summarizing important reveals from The Snow Girl season 2 episode 3

  • Belén and Chaparro read Allison's internet search history. She was looking into where to get an abortion, and Googling phrases like "abortion is a sin." The teen had also recently changed her password to the same code that Miren used to gain access to the Soul Game site.
  • Nacho says he read Miren's book, he knows what happened to her and wishes he was as strong as she is. Laura saved him from the fire that killed their parents.
  • Borja reveals the Soul Game leader is called the Raven of God in reference to a passage from the Old Testament. Who else do we know who adheres to the old scriptures?
  • Laura's uncle Cristóbal is an ardent anti-abortion protestor who had a minor altercation with Allison when she went to a public clinic.
  • Tomás believes that Laura's disappearance might be connected to a child pornography ring known as The Slide, the same organization Miren crossed paths with in the first season.
  • Miren officially begins playing the Soul Game.
