Though he had no lines, the death of Michael Coleman is interesting in that he’s one of the very few people in the franchise to die of natural causes. Succumbing to prostate cancer, Michael had apparently agreed to let Milton use him as a test subject to study the zombie virus. In his dying days, Michael would be closely monitored, to let Milton try to understand this thing as best he can.

After Michael dies in front of Milton and Andrea, he starts to reanimate. Milton believes that Michael may still be showing some signs of being human, while Andrea feels that all of that is gone. Milton tries to prove her wrong by releasing Michael’s arm restraints but when Michael attacks him, Andrea puts him down by stabbing him in the head.
