Most horror fans never thought they’d see Jamie Lee Curtis in a Halloween film ever again. This year’s reboot will reset the story once again, creating a new timeline in which Laurie Strode was never killed. In fact, the film not only ignores every sequel past John Carpenter’s original film, it’s even said to slightly retcon that movie’s ending to play into what happens in this one.

In any case, with Freddy and Jason long gone from the big screen, most of us can’t be more excited for the new Halloween. Michael Myers will hack up teenagers in Haddonfield at least one more time in theaters, and this particular writer will be in the front row on opening day.
